For all who are reading from BootLegsForTori, I REALLY NEED A COPY OF THE SHOW IN TORONTO. I will do whatever it takes! Anyway, read on if you wish... Hi everybody, O.k I live 2 hours north of Toronto so my friend and I drove down on Tuesday. About half way to Toronto (when all the radio stations kick in on the highway) my friend switched the dial to a station called MAGIC 95.1 or something and hark, what do I hear? Patty Griffin singing One Big Love! Oh! I couldn't believe my luck (I have NEVER heard Patty on Canadian radio before). So we arrived and booked a hotel room (crazy how they can charge $230.00 for a bed and a t.v.) at the Holiday Inn. We had decided before we left that we would pick up a bottle of wine for before the show but, when we were walking around my friend asked if I'd ever had pink champagne. (believe it or not I'm 24 and never tried it) We bought two bottles just in case :) and went back to the room. I turned on the t.v and the guy says "Tori will be here but she is running late" WOW the place (muchmusic) was just around the corner! Off my friend and I went (after drinking the first bottle of course!). Alas, I didn't catch a glimpse of Tori but had a GREAT late lunch instead. So, Tori was up first and she knocked my socks off! (I can't believe I just used that expression)My friend has never seen her perform live before and was blown away too. I cried all the way through Northern Lad AND China-played alone YAY!(I broke up with my partner recently). She also played some stuff from TVAB that is brilliant. Then came Alanis, I have two words HOLY SHIT! This woman is a born performer regardless of all the judgement she faces. My favorite parts of her set were 1. this AMAZING guy played a beautiful piano intro to Uninvited 2. she played my favorite song, That I Would Be Good Anyway, we went back to the room and drank the other bottle of champagne to cap off a magical experience! Thanks to Patty, Tori, and Alanis for a wonderful end to my summer! If anyone knows how I can get my hands on a copy of both Tori and Alanis' performances I would be eternally grateful. Thanks for listening, the faery girl === May you dream you are dreaming/ in a warm soft bed/ May the voices inside you/ that fill you with dread/ Make the sound of thousands of angels instead/ Tonight where you might be laying your head/ NOBODY'S CRYING - Patty Griffin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
