Also, we get information just by reading the postings and sometimes straight from the horse's mouth. (Gosh, that sounds derogatory when speaking about Patty). Patty usually does a meet and greet after her shows too and she's a really nice person. She really appreciates flowers--especially lilacs which are no longer in season, but next year... Some members of the band read the postings and sometimes they will clarify some points for us. - -Sharyn ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 03 Sep 1999 15:15:22 PDT From: "Paul Russell" Subject: MM: lobsterfest once again Hi! Well, this weekend is yet another lobsterfest. I swear, where do these restaurants get all this money to fly lobsters in from Maine? bitchin for me. at least they don't fly a bunch of crabs down here; there's enough already on the regular flights. ;) Anyway, ******the not particularly PG related part***** Haylay. K's choice is great! I love their song "I smoke a lot" I used to sing that song all the time, but now just every now and then (and I don't even smoke). ...., oh..by the term "singing," that would not be in the "professional" sense, but more like in the "sound like a dying walrus in my car" sense. *****the answering Michelle's question part**** Hmmmmm. Interesting questions you posted there. I'm gonna paste them with answers here: i am way confused on how this whole thing works?? cananyone explain this mailing list to me? That's a little complicated. There's a trick in this "list" thing. When you want to post something you have to get on the computer and yell out "Shananigans!! Shananigans!!" Then the email automatically sends it depending on the tone of your voice. ;P you all have mention songs that ihave never even heard of and i was wondering where you heard them at. Many people on this list all have compilations of many Patty Griffin performances/songs/etc. and then share them with others. I personally don't got no tapes...but then again I'm a procrastinator and never got the time to ask for any (although from what I hear these rarity tapes are max ab fab). isanyone else really into other bands?? Well, yes. There's Patty Griffin, um Patty Griffin's Band, the Band of Patty Griffin. Hmmmm. Which bands didn't I mention? Kidding :) yeah, I think it's safe to speak for everyone on this list to say that I'm speaking for myself in saying that I listen to tonsssss of music and all kinds of bands. I'm particularly fond of Metallica, Police, and Rush. And I absolutely live for Led Zeppelin...besides Patty Griffin of course. That is all for now. Still no Patty Griffin sighting in Pensacola. Gotta go labor for labor day. peace love and vegetable rights paul ***************************** * This is the funk bass * * your mom will appreciate * * * * --radio promo for * * WTKX 101.3FM in FL * ***************************** ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 04 Oct 1999 15:36:54 -0800 From: tarot@pon.net Subject: MM: patty on Sessions to the person that asked why the only things listed for sept. are Best of Sessions for Sessions at West 54th... Sessions tapes their performances and shows them quite a bit after they occur (like, say, Hard Rock Live or some such music show). Patty's session will probably be in next season (hopehopehope) nick (who loved this season's Sessions lineup, tho not as much as last season's) - -- "I had nothing to offer anyone except my own confusion." - --Jack Kerouac AOL IM: Orpheus713 http://fly.to/nickhaswings ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 03 Sep 1999 22:35:59 -0500 (CDT) From: Julie E Graham Subject: MM: Patty's sessions taping Hey gang, Alan mentioned seeing Jewel tape her Sessions on the Jewel list. Unfortunately for me, Jewel's Sessions will be taped on a Tuesday and I can't take a trip to NYC on a weekday. Does anyone know when Patty tapes her Sessions at West 54th? If it's on a weekend, I might try to go. Anyone? Julie ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V3 #256 *********************************
