I go to see her whenever possible, I'll buy anything she releases, I even sat in line for over an hour and let CBS studios treat me like a criminal (not to mention clapping on cue like a trained seal) just so I could watch her perform on the Craig Kilborne show. But I have to be honest: I think that the video for One Big Love stinks to high heaven. I only saw it once, and it was on some small time (pronounced "third rate") video show who was claiming it as "Exclusive to this show!" Well who else would want it? I'm not trying to start a flame war or offend anyone, my venom is entirely directed at A&M Records (now Interscope, who has no business or capacity for promoting someone like Patty, but that's a diffenrent tirade...). I think his no-budget piece of crap should offend any fan of Patty Griffin. A major label, honestly trying to promote a new act should (does?) know how powerful a good video can be and how equally powerful a horrid video can be. I just wanted to say that I was appalled by the thing. I'm sure Patty had nothing to do with it except for being caught up in the machine. A single that strong deserves so much better.
