I don't think I need to make one up! I'll just listen to yours. I won't complain about LA radio too much, as in a couple of weeks I fly back home to Lancaster County Pennsylvania, where guys still wear the Billy Ray Cyrus hair-doo and the Backstreet Boys rule. And the only Griffin they know is Andy. Aaargh. I actually heard Patty back there last summer and I'm guessing it was the afore mentioned WXPN. But I want my KSCA back! And for the record, I much prefer KFOG to anthing in LA. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 01:35:03 PDT From: Sean Palen Subject: Re: MM: Tomorrow Patty rocks the World again!! I had shared music that I like with her so she insisted that I borrow Flaming Red and Living With Ghost. She almost didn't get them back until I bought my own.:) Houston radio is not getting any better. We did have one station here for a while that played a pretty good variety, but they made it into a Spanish station. As someone mentioned, KPFT is too much talk shows during the day. I have never heard Patty on the radio at all. I heard that she lives in Austin, but it seems she never plays there, so I have never seen her in concert. Come on Patty and make some Houston or Austin appearances. It always has and probably always will. You can get a break from all the drivel by tuning in a college radio station, KACC 89.7, but they are not going to play Patty. KPFT will play folk artists at limited times. To listen to intelligent radio, you have to go to Austin and listen to KGSR, which is the most wonderful station I've ever heard. Sure, I'm sure it has its faults, but it's still miles ahead of anything on the air in Houston. I learned about Patty from the Dar Williams mailing list, which raved about "Living With Ghosts." ---Steven ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 09:36:35 -0700 (PDT) From: Chris Clough Subject: MM: The Craig Kilborne Show TONIGHT Hey Y'all, I just got off the phone with On Camera Audiences, and they said that TONIGHT'S (that's June 18th) guests are: Christina Ricci Donnie Osmond and... Dar is also one of my all-time faves, a killer, killer songwriter with this sweet, adorable voice. If you're thinking about it, try going to one of your local letcha-listen record stores and asking to listen to: Lucinda Williams, self titled Dar Williams, The Honesty Room. Man, I can't believe I'm spending so much time on the internet today that I'm actually making more than one post. Hello summer staleness. Anyway, Ruby... I would go out and buy The Coors new album. It's all kinda catchy and it's a bit Irish so that's always a plus!! I saw this infomercial thing on them on MTV once and I was captivated. Not only are there like three great looking sisters singing, but they all have Irish accents. *drool* I wasn't real interested in the songs at first, but I just couldn't change the channel because they kept talking. Besides, their name (the Coors) reminds me of beer, so they can't be all bad. Then after you get that album, go after those others if you still wanna spend money. ;) just had to get that off my chest. I hope i get to hear an interview with The Coors again. *sigh* And get the "Hackers" soundtrack too. That rocks total wicked! I'm really signing off this time.
