Same warning applies here--but read on if youre interested in Trina Hamlin, one of the most striking new voices out there today... > Also, about Trina Hamlin, I think that she has a new album coming on the WB > label. I could be wrong though. She does have her own page at the Dawson's > Creek website though. Yes, I know about the page. But Trina does not have an album coming out on Warner or any other label--not yet, at least. Her one CD to date, "Alone," is a set of demo recordings made in her kitchen on a four-track - --sound familiar to Patty fans? The song that appeared on Dawson's Creek, "(Don't Know Where to Put You) In My Life," was done as a demo for Island Records. Trina has been auditioning hard these last couple of years, and Island finally rose to the bait and put her in the studio for a demo recording. She's had a lot of support from ASCAP as well, and I think it might have been the ASCAP folks in L.A. who pushed the song to the Dawson's Creek producers. Major labels fairly often do these demo recordings; it means there's interest from the label, but it's no guarantee--sometimes not even an indication-- of a pending deal. Still, Trina is an amazing talent and it would be great to see her go national. She plays often in New York, and if you'd like to follow her exploits and live in the area you can find her dates on our Gigometer page over at http://www.web-ho.com/gigs.html. She plays solo and as part of the Marilyn & Friends and Acoustic Girl Circle songwriter circles. If you like LWG, these are probably right up your alley... Tomorrow night...HOB....Patty, Lucinda, and Rosie Flores. This will be my third time seeing Patty, and I know I'll love every minute of it. Question: Opinions on Lucinda and Rosie? Have heard only one song by Lucinda, none by Rosie but have read favorable critiques in the local paper. Any info appreciated!
