By the way, if it weren't for Jewel, this list wouldn't exist. Neither would the Patty Lyrics Archive or Mike's tourdates page. You can like or hate whoever you want, but there's no reason to be nasty. I am sorry, but the thousands of members of the EveryDay Angels (the Jewel list) would never dream of putting down another artist. What do all of you think Patty would say if she knew that her "fans" were putting down a friend of hers? For anyone who doesn't know it was Jewel that gave Patty the chance to widen her fanbase tremendously by having her perform at JewelStock 3 years ago. Personally, I would have never heard of Patty if it wasn't for the support that the EDA list had given her and I can't imagine how many other people that statement applies to. Let's try to remember one more thing and that is why this list was set up in the first place. It wasn't to tear apart other artists. I cannot imagine Patty wanting to be associated with something that shows such blatant ignorance. Didn't your mother's ever teach you that if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. Who do you think you are benifiting???? I think I've said my piece and I hope the other EDA members of this list aren't too ashamed of their fellow "fans." Does she have a last name or is she one of those one named artists? Not that I have anything against one named artists. Madonna puts on an amazing show... half music, half theater, and Cher did a great job at the SuperBowl last Sunday (the only part of the game I actually watched). Anyway, that Jewel helped out Patty is fantastic. However, I have no problem with someone being critical of her musicianship. I appreciate people with opinions. That's one of the things I love so much about Patty. She's not afraid to tell you how she feels about things in her songs. Jewel's music (yes, I do actually know who she is :) is a little (actually, a *lot*) too vanilla for my taste. But I know a lot of people love her and that's great. As long as we're all happy. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 6 Feb 1999 00:18:25 -0600 From: "James P" Subject: Re: MM: Patty and Jewel "Can't we all just get along?" -Cristina - -----Original Message----- From: David Lewis To: mad-mission@smoe.org Date: Friday, February 05, 1999 8:53 PM Subject: Re: MM: Patty and Jewel >Who's Jewel?
