For anyone who's interested, Shawn does a great version of "Have yourself a merry little christmas" on a great christmas cd called "acoustic christmas". I got it last year but i'm sure it's still available. also...did anyone perchance tape the interview w/patty that aired on NPR last weekend?????? _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? I remember reading something a little while back about someone having compiled either a full-band version of LWG or an acoustic version of FR? Is that right. I also remember hearing something about a rarities tape. If anyone does have anything resembling what I've just described, please email me privately so I can arrange to get copies (I don't know if I have any tapes to trade, but we might be able to arrange some other trade. My email is laine@ddtp.org). Rock on red-headed goddess!!! :-) Happy Holidays y'all! Laine ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Dec 1998 16:25:14 -0800 From: "J. Pruitt / C. Minter" Subject: MM: words to "Little God" This is off of a good recording and her vocals are pretty clear. The song is very haunting and dark. I think that it is in a minor key. There are some lines I'm unsure of and I've marked them. Everything else, though, is pretty accurate. Anyway, here goes... Good morning Little God I see you've come for me again With the news between your teeth But you are not my friend Pouring little cups of tea Humming a little tune You sit across from me And fill my little room Little God Smoke is in the air From your little cigarrettes You tell me to throw the fire (?) Go and place your little bets Shake Little God Shake your little fists All the strippers think you're odd But you leave the biggest tips Little God Where, where did I leave myself today? On the bed? On the chair? Did I send myself away On the sleepy afternoon? Will I be returning soon? Laugh your little laugh Stomp your little feet They talk behind your back All the people that you meet They say time is running out And they don't know what to do And I hear them talk about Another place to live, but not with you [not sure about this line] Little God [4x, more intense each time] She just wails until the end while the band rocks out.... I didn't really like the song at first, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it. It just sounds so dang ominous but I think that's kinda what I like about it. ;) -Cristin a ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Dec 1998 17:58:18 -0800 From: "Vanessa Wheeler" Subject: MM: thanks little god person wow, didn't expect to get the lyrics to that one - thanks alot! i'm not quite sure i understand it as of yet but Patty's a mysterious soul you know. so thanks Cristen for taking the time to do that for me - what fine people we have on this list! happy friday! v ps and thanks DOME for welcoming to the list. gotta say - i feel loved! : ) ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V2 #385 *********************************
