HELL: There is really no way to misuse the word "hell", unless you are telling someone to "go to hell", and that, of course, is NOT allowed. We're all floating on our clouds here, playing our harps! No firey devils here, no way! Plus, by telling someone to "go to hell", you are making assumptions about his/her religious background. Some listers might not believe in an afterlife, and I will not allow any preaching here. 2. SHIT: This word is fun to say, I know, but let's think about the connotations... We all know that "shit" means "poo-poo"! Remember this when you use the word. Suppose I were to say, "Patty sounds so shitty with a band!!! *@#$%" I am, essentially, saying that, "Patty sounds like poop with a band". When you use the adjective "shitty" to describe something, realize that there are probably more descriptive adjectives that do not obscure the meaning of your statement. A much better sentence would be: "Personally, I think Patty's talent is better displayed when she is accompanied by only her acoustic guitar". So, you ask, when can I say "shit"? Now, if I had been you people who failed to get the webcast of the WRLT show... I'd have hollered a BIG "shit". Though I would have probably kept it to myself. 3. DAMN: This is my personal favorite. I use "damn" as an adjective far too often, I'm afraid. It adds to basically any sentence, when spoken. When written, it losing some of its specialty. I think "damn" is one of the less offensive curse words, so go ahead and use it--in moderation, of course. Don't say, "Damn you!"... It implies the same things as "go to hell" does. Variation: Dammit 4. FUCK: This word has a spoken quality that does not translate into type. I like to say it because it makes me feel like a bad girl. But, this list is about the GOODNESS of Ms. Patty Griffin, so we have no need to "try" to be bad. I will continue to try and fail miserably at this task in my own personal life, but this is not much of your business, now is it? Anyways, I doubt anyone here would be much impressed with my use of the word "fuck". So, that said, please don't say, "Fuck you," to anyone. That's just not nice. Don't use "fucking" as your adjective of choice. Though I know it occasionally sounds romantic in speech, it's not for this list. So, there are your rules. I know I have left off some common curse words, but I think these four are the most used. If anyone feels that they can add to this list, please email me with your suggestions and I will update the list as new rules become available. I will let you ALL know how it goes..as if you can't figure this one out for yourselves..:) I just want to let you all know..as strange as this may sound..I went to bed a few weeks ago..and I was thinking..if the tour is winding down, (I'm not sure if it is or not) I may not see Patty again for a LONG time! So I sat there, and I prayed for her to come back at least one more time on this tour. The VERY NEXT DAY I find out about this Baltimore show....Coincidence??
