Secondly, I am so jealous of you...i tried so hard to win those damn tickets. I listened to it on the radio, but it didn't do much for me...i wanted to be there. Anyway, we are jibber jabbering away about LWG because it is one of the most beautiful and moving CD's. If you know anything about Patty prior to FR, you would know that she has not done much electric/synthesizer material. The first time i saw Patty was at a Folk Festival in Kerrville, Tx. This was about 3 years ago. She was all acoustic and sounded like an angel. Patty hasn't 'moved on'. She is simply experimenting with all outlets. Patty sounds good plugged in or plugged out, but i don't think she's moved on and left her acoustic roots behind her. Evidently, you aren't a big acoustic fan. Well, i'm not a big synthesizer fan:D It will be interesting to see what Patty does next. Oh, and by the way, she plays occasionally at coffee shops in Austin....ALL ACOUSTIC! Take Care! Dear Everyone... On this, my possible last post of 1998, I'd like to tell you all that I got Patty recorded from her Friday night show for KGSR's B-day Bash. The tape turned out fine...I think she was great. Made some punk friends of mine listen and they loved it...asked to borrow Flaming Red... So...Just to let you know...if anyone would like a tape of the show...then give me some mail... ****AND***** If anyone has Lucinda's complete show from KGSR, and taped it, can you give me a letter? My tape was fine, but it only got the first hour. It stopped in the middle of JOY...which was the one song I most wanted to hear her do live most....I don't know how much longer she played after that, but if you have a copy of that show...please let me know.... I think I'll even wonder if you meant it at the time... -- Ani DiFranco _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? I can't start on the tapes until this weekend (finals week, ya know) but when I do, for those that want to trade, then we'll trade. For those that have nothing to trade with, if you'll send me a blank tape, then I'll record it for you and send it back to you. Does this sound like a good plan? I've listened to most of the tape in my car and it's a very clear recording. The vocals were muffled and drowned out at the show, but on tape they are crystal clear. Go figure! :) thanks, Cristina ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Dec 1998 18:46:29 -0600 From: HAW3065@ACS.TAMU.EDU Subject: MM: Jessica Sampson Sorry for the non-patty post, but if anyone knows the new email address for Jessica, or if you are reading, please be in touch.
