I have no idea how crowded it will be, but I'm expecting it to be packed. A friend of mine went to the dc talk show there a couple of weeks ago and he said that it was CRAZY! The dj's announced Patty's show and he said that many people looked interested. He got there around 4:30 or 5:00 and got a good table. Maybe we can inform other Nashvillians about this mailing list? Did you read the brief interview with her in "Inreview?" They don't have a website so I may transcribe the interview for this list if enough people are interested in it. I'm not a native (but who is in Nashville?) I go to MTSU and moved here about 2 1/2 years ago. Originally, I'm from Texas. It broke my heart when I read that Patty has moved to Austin. Lucky girl... ;) Cristina ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 14:01:21 EST From: CornflkGl@aol.com Subject: MM: npc: joke OK, OK, I'm probably gonna get roasted by the flame-patrol for posting this, but my boyfriend sent it to me this morning, and I thought it was really funny. Enjoy :) The difference between men and women in one paragraph: A man is driving up a steep, narrow mountain road. A woman is driving down the same road. As they pass each other the woman leans out the window and yells: "PIG!!" The man immediately leans out his window and replies "BITCH!!" They each continue on their way, and as the man rounds the next corner, he crashes into a pig in the middle of the road. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 16:21:37 -0800 From: Mike Acerbo Subject: MM: Re: Patty on the radio Mike Acerbo wrote: > Hey New Yorkers, Patty will be featured again on 90.7 WFUV tonight at > 8pm. I just joined a few weeks ago, after seeing Patty at Tower Records in Nashville. I love Lightnight 100, but I love their sister station "93.7 The Phoenix" even more! They play Patty as well... Mostly her softer ballads, since they fit the format better. Do you live in Nashville? I am a student at MTSU in Murfreesboro, but I'm from Clarksville, TN, originally. I only know of one other Nashvillian on the list, and his name is Mark... I think we're planning on meeting at the 3rd and Lindsley show, and we'd love for you to join us! Let me know, okay? Take care, Misty :) > >Hi All, > I'm new to the list. I believe it was bigalgofish who posted that Patty >is not being promoted in Old Town. Minter" Subject: MM: is it just me? Okay, Is it just me or is "Big Daddy" one of the most beautiful, yet sad, songs on the album? It's like she comes in and rips your heart out in about 2 minutes, then goes on her merry way. Does anyone else out there agree or am I reading into this song too much? Cristina ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 Nov 1998 21:48:42 EST From: UMCaner74@aol.com Subject: MM: Big Daddy I'd have to agree, but on the grounds that ANYTIME Patty vocalizes it's a beautiful occurence. I'd have to say that some things grab me more than others.... For me, I'd have to say the end of Sweet Lorraine, or how she leads into the chorus of Every Little Bit are definite standouts. Also high on THIS list would be the whole song Not Alone. Christina, Mary, and Peter Pan Live. Now that I think of it..I'll stick to what I said 1st..anytime Patty opens her mouth, it's Wonderful, something I wish I would never have to miss...
