It's great to see that at least 99.9% of Patty fans have an open mind. I haven't seen her with her entire band, but I hear they rock pretty good! But when it's just her and her guitar (and on this trip, with her guitarist, Rosann) she has kind of a folky/pop feel. But it's awesome. Great songwriting as well. If any of you are in the Seattle area, please come and check her out. Thanx for polite response to the rude and crude remarks of one of our list members. I would not have been so tactfull. 2. I bought the new Alanis CD last night and listened to the first seven songs and I must say that I am impressed. It's not much of a departure from the first (unlike LWG to FR) but it demonstates some growth on the part of Alanis. I plan to listen to the second half this evening. Based on what I've heard already I would say that if you liked the first CD you'd like this new one. FOR ALL YOU PG FANS IN THE NASHVILLE AREA Patty is doing an instore performance at Tower Records on West End Ave near Vanderbuilt Univ. at 6pm tomarrow and then she will be performing at the Exit Inn later that evening. I have yet to hear Patty with the band and am looking forward to it. If any list members plan to be at the show at the Exit Inn please contact me off list today and lets see if we can meet. Regards, Mark Nashville,TN PS: Mary Arden Collins is definitely a talent to reckon with. I highly recommmend her to anyone on this list. Another artist to check out is Joy Askew. Joy's music is a bit more complex than Mary's (which means that they are stylisticly very differt)and boy can she sing (she has the voice of an angel with the power of Gabrials trumpet). Check them out. - -----Original Message----- From: "JessBartn@ aol.com" @SMTP () Sent: Wednesday, November 04, 1998 5:21 AM To: Mad-mission@ smoe.org@SMTP Subject: Re: MM: Re: mad-mission-digest V2 #333 *** TFS Evaluation Copy of module : Novell GroupWise *** In a message dated 11/4/98 1:36:20 AM Central Standard Time, griffbabe@yahoo.com writes: << Who the fuck cares about Mary whatever in Seattle >> Hey, we do, you potty mouth;-) Since most of us are music enthusiasts, we use the PG list to suggest & find other class act artists. Mike, i went to mary's sight and she seems really good. if she is ever in the washington, d.c. area let me know. also, has anyone heard of David Mead? He is an amazing singer/songwriter in Nashville and when I lived there, I would go see him play all the time. at that time he hadn't recorded anything but i heard he was talking (signed?) with a label. i just wanted to know if anyone from nashville or elsewhere knew what he was up to. "Go Now" reminds me of a David Mead song.
