Someone there last night knew it and was teasing her about it so she just broke it to the audience herself for revenge, I guess- with a smile. Dana ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Oct 1998 15:10:34 -0400 From: Dana Subject: MM: MM- Patty at the Iron Horse tonite Patty was great again tonite at the Iron Horse- This was the 7th time I have seen her and I am noticing how each concert is a different experience. Each venue is unique and so is the show. Some songs make every concert, but she seems to change her set lists around- with a few new songs each time. Tonite she did 2 Paul Westerberg songs- This is the 3rd time in two weeks I have heard one of them- Even Here {something like that I think- I thought it had Flower in the title, but that is not what she said tonite}. Correct me if I am wrong. She also did Little God again which she did in Providence- I am not sure what it is about- waking up each day to Little God- Is she talking about drug addiction? It is very different and entrancing, but I am not sure of the jist of it still. She was so cute tonite with a short black little dress, black tights and those big black knee high boots again- her hair wild around her face. I met Rachel and Kevin tonite- nice to sit with you both- and the Iron Horse is really a nice venue-you sit at tables of four and everyone has a good view- you can get a bite to eat for $8-10- I parked right next door at a bank- no problems finding my car tonite anyway! Anyone within an hour or so of Northampton really should take advantage of their concerts- a lot of good people are scheduled to be there in the near future- like Cheryl Wheeler and also the Nields and Richard Shindell. The place was sold out- yay!- and she got two standing ovations and we tried for a third, but she was done. She closed with Stolen Car acoustic. I still get to see her again tomorrow in Boston and then I am thru for a while- I need to stay home and be a mom instead of a groupie- so my family says anyway! Great concert, Patty. Oct.20? I saw her there in May...she was fantastic....does anyone know who the opening band is? John ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Oct 1998 16:03:29 EDT From: LWalshPGH@aol.com Subject: MM:RE: Patty in Pittsburgh Hi John, I will be in the audience for the Patty Show in Pittsburgh. I just can't wait! So many of her songs speak to me on so many different levels. More levels than Zeppelin or Elvis before her. Look for me at the show. I am about 6'2" with blond hair, long legs and a mustache. Just tap me on the shoulder and say " Hi, I'm Tony" and I will know it is you. See ya there. I'll second Dana's emotion - this was my first trip to the Iron Horse (second trip to Northampton for a show - the other was Henry Rollins' spoken word show at the Calvin Theater (another REAL nice venue) this past weekend), and it was a real nice place. I parked a short way down the street for $3, because I got there "fashionably" late after work, and couldn't find a spot any closer. Anybody who's interested in checking out what they've got for shows in the next couple months, they've got a schedule up at: http://www.masslive.com/ironhorse Richard Shindell, Cordelia's Dad (I've heard them (?) mentioned a few times on the ecto mailing list), Melissa Ferrick, Cheryl Wheeler, The Nields, Ferron, John Gorka, Ellis Paul, Vance Gilbert, Rose Polenzani & Jess Klein, Greg Brown, Moxy Fruvous, and Rory Block will all be making appearances there within the next 2 months or so. And those are just the names that *I* recognize, there's a lot more that are listed that some of you all may know. Ticket prices seem fairly reasonable for most of these shows, as well - the most expensive listed is $20, least expensive is $5.
