I'm new to the Patty list..huge fan in Albany, NY- she never comes to this city!!!I've caught her a few times out live...most recently months past in Northampton, MA at the Iron Horse. I spoke with her after the show for awhile...real neat woman. I love LWG...even FR has great stuff...better live and solo acoustic. Listen wondering if anyone has boots of her new stuff..acoustic w/o her band.? I'd be real interested. Anyway, just wanted to address the loudness issue. Unfortunately, for those of us who saw Patty as an opener, the music was ear-splitting loud, but as opening acts, the band has very little to say about the mix and volume. House sound people control this, and openers get notoriously bad mixes. Why? Cause they are the opener, and god forbid they sound as good as the headliner. My advice? Where ear plugs...they do. If you don't want to be deaf at 45 you should wear them to any concert anyway. Cheers all! And let's keep rockin' with Lil Miss Patty Grif! I don't think it was necessarily the over-all loudness they were compalining of, but the fact that it is nearly impossible to discern Patty's voice over the band. Either her mic is not correct or something. I took a friend to see her, his first time hearing Patty, and I was almost ashamed of taking him, we couldn't make out hardly a word she sang. He really enjoyed the show, but I think he might have been blown away had he seen her a year and half ago, as I was.
