I can partially answer who's in the live band from introductions on recordings I've heard, but I'm not sure of spellings on 2 names. If anyone knows accurate info on this (or can find out), please post to the list. Here's what I know so far: Doug Lancy(sp?)- lead guitar (from Nashville) David Rolfe- guitar & keyboards (from New York) Frank Swore(sp?)- bass (from San Fransisco) John Dedrick- keyboards (from Nashville) Danny Gale- drums (from Los Angeles) Additional info & corrections on spelling welcome! I've been a huge Patty fan since I heard of Lw/G from the Dar Williams and Nanci Griffith lists. I've been sooo jacked about Flaming Red coming out that I've been combing used CD stores for the FR advance CD. I finally found one & I really am sorry to say that I was VERY dissapointed. I'd heard OBL on the radio, & could'nt get it out of my head & thought the rest of the CD would be equally as great or better, but it was not to be. While there a few good things on it, overall it sounds to me like A&M won in the fight to put out a radio friendly piece of product. This sounds way over produced, especially considering the production style of Lw/G. Now I like a good (even overly) produced record, but this was really dissapointing to me. I even liked the production on Dar's TEOS when so many people thought it was too much. The guitars & drums were SO out front of Patty that it sounded just like any other thing one might hear when scanning the radio dial. It turned what I'm sure are great Patty songs into ordinary pop product. I'm still a big Patty fan, but I think I'll just have to wait for her 3rd release when she'll undoubtedly find a little balance and more of her own voice production wise. I'm really sorry to have to introduce myself & throw so much cold water. I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to Flaming Red. I still love her stuff & will go see her anytime ... I think the lead guitar is Doug Lancio, lead guitarist from the (now on hiatus) Blue Moon Orchestra, Nanci Griffith's knockout band.
