I haven't heard any of the new album, nor have I heard Patty with a band....my boyfriend brought it home and put in the CD while I was cooking dinner, and forwarded it straight to the Patty song - I thought he was playing the Sundays! I was astonished when he told me it was Patty....It's a good song (OBL) but it's just so....much.....and different...I think, like many of you have said, that it will grow on me... The rest of the CD is good, as well - Liz Phair, Jonatha Brooke ( i MISS the story), Catie Curtis, Kristen Hersh, among others - pick it up if you can! - -Laurel NP: Dead Can Dance -" Toward the Within" ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jun 1998 08:11:15 -0500 From: Mark Cicero Subject: MM: The Lillith CD -Reply Can this cd only be bought at Starbucks??? I didn't know Jonatha Brooke was playing. I "discovered" the same way I did Patty - through WFUV. It's a great station; if you can't get in, check out their web site WFUV.org. She has a beautiful voice, but her lyrics are much more "literary" and cryptic than Patty's. Her voice, though, has an incredible emotional impact, at least on me. Her CD "Plumb" is one of my favorites. She is also the voice on some Sears commercials! Are there any songs on these different Lilith CD's that aren't on Patty's released albums? I hate when the record companies try to get the diehard fans to buy a greatest hits by putting one unreleased or new song on the album. Knowing that the obsessive fan will have to buy to have everything. Also, was the man who wrote the message about how hard it is to get the sound mix right part of Patty's management/band? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jun 1998 10:26:53 -0400 From: "Perlman, Judith" Subject: MM: OBL I can't believe this! I just switched from the classical music station to WNEW-FM - the commercial classic rock station and they're playing One Big Love! That's what I call a breakthrough! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jun 1998 20:20:20 -0400 (EDT) From: "Stephen V. Musicians that creative shouldn't be ripping us off like this. I wrote Time, Rolling Stone, Parade magazine, and NPR's Fresh Air, and PRI's World Cafe to express my displeasure.
