For me, it's a great way of finding out about artists I wasn't aware of, and certainly aren't getting much if any air time on the radio. If I had to rely only on the local L.A. radio stations for good music, I'd always be thirsty. Every wonder what the fuel of LWG's was? I have always believed it was a broken heart and a sensitive guitarist. I haven't heard Flaming Red, but hey, you gotta keep in mind that on LWG were songs written over a long period of time, during and after and maybe before a divorce (at least that is what I have been led to believe in my meagre reading on the goddess Patty). Love is the greatest fuel for art in my humble but correct opinion. Maybe things just aren't as bad for her anymore. Maybe it hurts more than most people can guess to play heart wrenching songs SOLO night after night. Maybe patty just wants to rock out and make alot of noise. Sounds like a pretty punk rock thing of her to do. She is just a human goddess after all. And please keep in mind, a sophmore slump has a way of turning into either a brilliant third album, or a piece of crap that shows an artist only had that one brilliant piece of work in her after all. considering the brilliance of LWG, how could she possible top herself? By the way, I would like to tell Sean that I have enjoyed hearing peoples current playlist, thanks for the impetus for that, and I would like to tell Richard Church, politely, that it would have been really funny if after that scathing E-mail against NP's, if you had put your own list of Now Playings. And finally Rick, Right on, Erykah Badu is a true artist. And my playlist: erykah badu -an excellent sex album, even for a funky whitey like me. Ani Difranco-"little plastic castles" Paul Westerberg-"14 Songs" *he of the Replacements, one of our times most wonderful songwriters.* Tanks for reading 'til the end, casey beth ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 May 1998 16:42:53 EDT From: JEWELFAN22 Subject: MM: Re:In my CD player...
