(I can hear the screams of glee across the Atlantic now). I gotta run to go scout a football game so do not have the time to re-type it all in my usual anal way of doing things, so I am just going to copy & paste the pertinent parts of the news below. (some of it is old news I am sure, but I know a lot of it is new :-) Your list Grand Poobah, Mike :-) The news: thought it was time for a little update. i think everybody knows about the two festival shows in sept. and the dates in october on the west coast but here they are, just in case: sep. 22 - blue sky festival - louisville, ky sep. 28 - acl festival - austin, tx oct. 13 - belly up - solana beach, ca oct. 14 - coach house - san jaun capistrano, ca oct. 15 - el rey - los angeles, ca oct. 17 - fillmore - san francisco, ca oct. 19 - moore theatre - seattle, wa oct. 20 - aladdin theater - portland, or we have some other things in the works. patty will, once again, be taking part in a series of concerts to benefit the vvaf's landmine free world campaign. she will be sharing the stage with emmylou harris, mary chapin carpenter and bruce cockburn. here are the dates and venues: nov. 6 - meymandi hall - raleigh, nc nov. 7 - thomas wolfe auditorium - asheville, nc nov. 8 - the tabernacle - atlanta, ga nov. 9 - tennessee theatre - knoxville, tn nov. 10 - alabama theatre - birmingham, al then, for our uk fans, it looks like patty will be opening shows for billy bragg starting nov. 14. below is the schedule: nov. 14 - arts centre - poole nov. 16 - derngate - northampton nov. 17 - academy - birmingham nov. 19 - assembly rooms - berby nov. 20 - victoria theatre - halifax nov. 21 - charter theatre - preston nov. 23 - barbican - york nov. 24 - opera house - buxton nov. 25 - grand - swansea nov. 27 - pavilion -n plymouth nov. 28 - anvil - basingstoke nov. 29 - swan - high wycombe dec. 1 - shepherds bush empire - london "1000 Kisses" will also be released in the u.k. in october. patty will be in nashville, tn on sept. 30 to take part in a television taping at the ryman auditorium along with emmylou harris, john hiatt, buddy and julie miller and others. the show will celebrate the ties between celtic and american roots music. it will also feature the chieftains and the artist will be preforming music from their latest release "down the old plank road" which featured patty and many other great artists. no air date has been set but there is talk of making the show available on dvd after it airs. i think that gets you up to date thru the end of the year. i would like to let the folks who are wondering who is singing on truth #2 that that is indeed emmylou harris. let me know if you have any other questions and, as always, thanks for your support.
