We're looking for street team help for the July and August dates, and we'll send you some Patty materials (posters and postcards) to work with. It would be great if you could hit lifestyle spots (record stores, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and other gathering places) around the venue leading up to the show date. Then hang posters in and around the venue the day of show, and hand out handbills and postcards as people leave the concert. We'll ask you to keep track of the places you cover and report back to us - simple! For covering the show in your town, you will receive a pair of free tickets! Unfortunately we cannot offer tickets for Pattybs shows with The Chieftains, but we would still love some help with those dates. If you can get involved, please send an e-mail to allison@colonymarketing.com -Please make sure the subject of your email is "Patty Griffin Tour Support". -Please make sure you include your full name, mailing address, and the date/location of the show that you would like to cover. To: Mad-Mission@smoe.org Sender: owner-mad-mission-news@smoe.org Precedence: bulk Hey Guys, I have put together a new Patty Ddouble Live Compilation that I'd like to share with those of you on the list. Originally, I had planned on doing a 2 disc live set, featuring the Keswick show. Once I got an absolutely amazing recording of the Whitaker Center show, I changed my mind on that. Included on the 2 discs is the full Whitaker Center show from Harrisburg, PA on 6/24/02. Also, there will be 17 tracks recorded from various locations throughout her Spring/Summer tour. The track list looks like this: Disc 1- Whitaker Center 6/24/02 1. Chief 2. Rain 3. Making Pies 4. Be Careful 5. Long Ride Home 6. Flaming Red 7. Poor Man's House 8. The Moon Follows Me Home 9. Band Intros 10. Truth # 2 11. Goodbye 12. Boss Chat (Patty talking to ME about The Boss, this needed to be it's own separate track! basically it's just Patty talking, and me giggling & agreeing with everything she says ..LOL) 13. Stolen Car 14. Mad Mission 15. Mil Besos 16. Tomorrow Night 17. Sweet Lorraine 18. 10 Million Miles (from Portland, OR 6/2/02) Disc 2 1. Moses (songs 1-6 are from the Keswick Theatre 5-2-02) 2. Falling Down 3. Tony 4. Racing In The Streets 5. Let Him Fly 6. Mary 7. Forgiveness (Buffalo, NY 6/26/02) 8. Florida (songs 8-10 from Ram's Head 4/29/02) 9. Poor Man's House 10. Nobody's Crying 11. You Never Get What You Want (Somerville Theatre 4/26/02) 12. Ballad Of Hollis Brown (The Ark 4/21/02) 13. Ruby's Arms (The Birchmere 5/1/02) 14. Top Of The World (Birchmere) 15. Dirty Old Town (w/Michael Fracasso, Somerville) 16. Save Her Love (w/Michael Fracasso, The Ark 17. Mama (Darcie Miner- Whitaker Center 6/24/02) What I would like to do is get a list of those people interested in getting this compilation. Also, if you could please let me know if you could make copies for others on the list, that would be great. Hopefully enough people will volunteer so that no one has to make TOO many copies. To those of you who had already expressed interest in this, please remind me by sending another email because my dog ate the original list (I know, I know, likely excuse but TOTALLY true...) For those making copies (the branches).. You can work out with your leaves what you will receive in return for the CDs. It should either be 2 blank CDs & cost of shipping, the cost of 2 Cds & shipping.. or maybe you can work out a trade for other music that the 2 of you are interested in. Absolutely NO PROFITEERING should occur... or I'm sicking The Evil One on you.. ;-) To review. Those interested shoot me an email with "Whitaker Center", or "Patty Tree" somewhere in the subject line. If you can make copies, let me know. Even if it's only a few copies, that will help immensely. Let me know how many copies you would be willing to make as well. OK?? :-) Everything is done & ready to go.. so I'm going to allow people so sign up for approximately a week before setting everything up as far as branches/leaves etc. My plan is to get copies sent out to all the branches before my Patty expedition with the now World Famous Don in a few weeks. Take care, & Happy Patty listening! I'm hoping to have the copies shipped out to the branches by the end of the weekend. By that time, I will have (hopefully) posted which leaves belong to which branches. It will then be your responsibility to get in touch with your branch to decide how you will work this. You can either send your branch some blanks & a self addressed-stamped envelope. You can send them a few bucks to cover the cost of blanks, the envelopes, and the shipping. You can even work out a trade with them for other Patty music you may have.. or maybe even for another artist your branch may be interested in. Whatever the 2 of you decide is fair.. all I ask is that no one makes ANY money off this, and of course.. that these discs don't end up for sale somewhere. That's all for now. In under 24 hours since my original post, I've gotten about 140 responses from people interested in getting the discs! Wow! Many, many people have stepped forward offering to be a branch, and I thank you for that. It's a fine bunch of people we have on this list, let me tell you. :-) Most people who have expresssed interest in being a branch have simply said, I can be a branch. Some have given me quantities of copies that they can do, which is great. Due to the unexpected number of sign-ups at this early stage though.. it looks like I will need a few people to step forward and make a substantial contribution as far as quantity of Cds burned. I don't want this thing to take forever to get done, & I simply can not do 80 copies of this thing. My plan is to have someone do the artwork (I have a fine candidate in mind), and have that put up on a website somewhere. That way the branches responsibilities will be limited to simply burning the discs. The website is yet to be determined, so if anyone has some free webspace for this, that would even be a major help since I'm not too inclined as far as web design and all that stuff is concerned. Ok.. so to sum it up. I'm looking for a few people who can burn maybe 20 or so copies of this thing. That way I'm not responsible for sending out 80 Cds to people who can do a few copies. :-) Thanks guys! if you can help me out on either the "free space" on a website or being a "major branch", please send me an email with 1 of those 2 things in the subject line. To: Mad-Mission@smoe.org Sender: owner-mad-mission-news@smoe.org Precedence: bulk Hey guys, Ok, after much planning & consideration, I've finally gotten everything organized. Since it is against Smoe policy to publicly display so many email addresses at once, I'll be emailing each branch & Leaf combination separately. What I'd like is for the branches to get in touch with their respective leaves, instead of a branch getting 8 or 9 separate emails from their leaves. Now, 1st off let me explain that the quantity of sign ups by FAR exeeded my expectations. Thankfully, the number of people who so graciously offered their time & help was even more overwhelmingly positive. Due to the # of branches involved, I simply could not supply each & every branch with their master copy to burn for their leaves. It was important for me to not burden anyone with too much responsibility due to the "monster" that I created. So, I created a tree with more branches & less leaves, rather than less branches & more leaves per branch. Getting to the point, I sent copies to the 1st wave of branches on Saturday. Those branches are responsible for about 8 or 9 leaves, 2 of which are ALSO branches (in most cases). So keep in mind, if your branch is someone who is also a LEAF, they will not be getting their master copy to burn for you for a little bit. There is even a chance that some of the discs could have a glitch in them or something. My burner is not always perfect, and of course I did not have time to listen to each & every disc as I got done with them. So, be patient. Remember, good things come to those who wait. :-) I will let everyone know if their branch is in fact a leaf 1st, so you can expect a slight delay. When some people are posting here saying they've gotten the compilation.. don't feel bad, you'll get yours shortly! Leaves: Once your branch has gotten in touch with you, you can talk about the best way to work this. If you're going to send blanks & pay for postage, or just pay for the branch to use their own blanks, whatever works best for the 2 of you. To the branches: Please be sure to burn these discs on DISC AT ONCE mode, to keep the 2 second gap from being in between the songs. :-) If you have any questions about this, feel free to email me. I'll be here until Thursday when I go on my Patty voyage with Don. Ok, I'll shut my mouth now.. Everyone who requested the tree (hopefully) will be getting emails from me shortly. Take care, & Enjoy this once you get it!
