Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Sender: owner-mad-mission-news@smoe.org Precedence: bulk Someone posted today on the main version of this list that they noticed their local PBS affiliate was airing a repeat of Patty's appearance on Austin City Limits tonight. Typically, PBS affiliates air what the main PBS network is offering up, but more than a few stations air it a different night or weekend, like next weekend or even the weekend after. The show typically airs on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings. To see when/if this repeat is airing in on your local PBS affiliate, either check your local listings, or you might be able to find your PBS affiliate's schedule online at www.pbs.org. They have a local station finder, which leads you to the local PBS web page, most of which have quite detailed TV schedules, showing which episode of a show is slated to air etc. I hope all of you in the USA get this show in the next few weeks. (I myself missed it when it initially aired, so I cannot offer up a review of it). This is a compilation of Patty's best , original , unreleased music. Those of you who want a copy , E-mail me with LFML in the subject line , & your name & address in the message section. Those who volunteered to be branches , that have their copy from Jen C. , send me your E-mails , so I can forward the requests. donhenn@msn.com All thanks are due to Jen Powelson(Mystchif) , who did all the work compiling & organizing , & who is working on another 2-CD set with more original Patty music , covers , & duets , & Jennifer Caputo. Jen C. (along with a number of others) supported Jen P.'s efforts by sending whatever rare or high quality sound Patty music she had , to add to this excellent set. She also initiated this new tree , & sent out copies to the branches. I'm only organizing this , receiving & forwarding requests , b/c she is overwhelmed with schoolwork at the moment. Of course , thanks are also due Patty for creating this great music , & Mike Connell for the often thankless job of setting up & maintaining this list , including being a referee on occasion. I'll leave you with a great Ani DiFranco quote. I've been getting Ani quotes from a few listers recently , & looking up a few to use myself. It only takes a few minutes for a great one to jump out at me. Ani's lyrics are the closest thing I've seen to Patty's , & considering that I've only seen a fraction of them , she MAY be as good as Patty in that department. I haven't even heard her yet , but got a compilation of favorites from a lister , & am looking forward to playing it during my Nashville/Patty trip. I did not design this game I did not name the stakes I just happen to like apples And I am not afraid of snakes Ani DiFranco "Angel Food" Don From owner-mad-mission-news@smoe.org Mon May 21 18:52:35 2001 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by smoe.org (8.8.7/8.8.7/listq-jane) id SAA05682 for mad-mission-news-outgoing; Mon, 21 May 2001 18:52:09 -0400 (EDT) Message-Id: <200105212252.SAA05682@smoe.org> From: "Donald Henn" To: "mad-mission" Subject: PattyG-News: Patty LFML CDs Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 17:45:15 -0400 Sender: owner-mad-mission-news@smoe.org Precedence: bulk MMers , More info on the tree for those of you who asked. Artwork is available , & can be downloaded from www.johnfhiggins.com You can also find the setlist there , & other interesting info about the music. I also wanted to let everyone know that some of the songs have different names than Rachel has on her lyrics site or what was on the earlier compilation. I think that Rachel has the correct names , & either they were changed or whoever did the artwork got them wrong , but I'm not sure. I'll list them with Rachel's names second. The Longer You Wait - The Gate You Don't Have Me - You Decided Song for the Eighties - Never Gonna' Be (Not on Rachel's site , from the earlier compilation) Boxes on the Lawn - Boxes No More Illusions - Illusions A tree is method of distribution that's used when someone wants to share music with many others. Volunteers (Branches) get a copy from the original , & make copies for others(Leaves). That way , the person who initiates doesn't have to make a burdensome number of them. Usually branches have their leaves send them blank CDs & money for postage & other costs , then copy & send out the CDs. How they want to do it is up to the branch. Nobody makes any money from it. On the contrary , it usually ends up costing some money. The purpose is to get Patty's unreleased music into the hands of her fans. I've gotten a lot more requests than I anticipated , considering that the last offer wasn't very long ago , & would welcome any more volunteers to be branches. I'll keep you posted. Be patient , it's takes a while to get organized. By the way , the LFML set received rave reviews on the first go- around. Those of you who only have Patty's released CDs are in for a treat.
