Jay was a very good friend of mine. We met through music, and he became something of a mentor to me without really trying, just by being himself. He was only diagnosed with cancer in April, and died in late June. He was my age, which is scary. I miss him terribly especially at concerts he would probably have attended with me, or at Falcon Ridge, where we camped together for several years. I'm in fairly close contact with Nancy, his wife. In fact we saw Tom Paxton and the Kennedys together last weekend, and she'll be seeing Richard Shindell with me next week. Joanne >I was so sorry to hear of Jay's passing.
