Hi all Posting this extract from someone else's posting of mini-concert reviews from the Ecto list, from yesterday: Lucy Kaplansky, Madison Square Park The best part was when the sprinklers came on at 8.20 and spun in circles and drenched the picnickers. The music (folk and country) was fine - good covers (Julie Miller x2, Johnny Cash x2, Paul McCartney, Loudon Wainwright) and remarkably predictable originals. The mosh pit was great - kindergarteners, who drove security wild as they climbed on speakers and tried to stuff grass into the equipment. Lucy's Chinese daughter snuck on stage for a goodnight kiss, and there were several touching songs about her adoption. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2007 23:09:12 -0700 (PDT) From: "d. howery" Subject: [lucy-list] Lucy on Mountain Stage broadcast starts today (June 29th) Just a reminder: The Mountain Stage show that Lucy recently appeared on (May 17th) will be broadcast for a week starting today (June 29th).. On the monday after that week, the show is available to listen to and/or download as an mp3 from the Mountain Stage Website (for 1 week only). http://www.mountainstage.org/default.htm The website has a list of stations that carry Mountain Stage. PublicRadioFan.com (which is fairly accurate, but not always) has a list of stations that you can listen to the show on-line. http://www.publicradiofan.com/cgibin/program.pl?programid=67 WFUV (New York City) is one week behind most stations. They will broadcast this show on Friday July 6th at 2:00 pm et. I like WFUV because they have good streams for both dial-up and broadband. http://www.wfuv.org/ Of course it always sounds better if you can listen to it on the actual radio if a local station is playing it (not the case in my area). Lucy is on the last part of the first hour of the program and she performs: Manhattan Moon Over The Hills Today's The Day Other guests on the program are: Lori Mckenna, Todd Snider, Mavis Staples and Judy Collins. d. howery - --------------------------------- Finding fabulous fares is fun.
