She plays around Philly a lot. Just always had something else scheduled when she was in town. So it was nice to make it to hear her play live again. Don't know why but the opener never made it. Lucy played two sets with a short intermission. She kept taking requests the whole show, but told us she was really only going to play the ones she wanted anyway. One of the requests she did was Cold Missouri Waters. Said she wasn't sure she could remember it, but gave it a shot and only needed a hint on the lyrics. Never heard her do that one before and it was great. Don't remember the entire set list but it included Ten Year Night, Just You Tonight, Scorpion, Turn the Lights Back On, The Red Thread, The Kid, This is Home, a few from the new disc, and more. Lots of Molly stories and emotion. A great show at a great venue (WCL is attached to radio station WXPN and has music in 2 rooms most every night). They do, or perhaps did, a series from World Cafe Live-- it would probably be too much to ask though :) mm ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2007 15:10:39 -0500 From: "PhotoTwang" Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Lucy at World Cafe Live Mark wondered: >>Niffty. I was thrilled to find World Cafe Live on HDNet, but the shows I've seen do seem to have been recorded some time (years) ago. I was annoyed a couple weeks ago to see that stage and that show wasted on The Knack ("My Sharona")!?!, but it's been great for the most part. Tomorrow morning is Marshall Crenshaw, followed tomorrow evening by Joshua Redman. But! - I'd really love to see Lucy or Susan Werner (who also did WCLive recently), and any number of other faves, "live" in Hi-Def in my living room. Too much to hope for? ~Richard ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2007 18:15:15 -0400 From: "Bill McDonough" Subject: RE: [lucy-list] Lucy at World Cafe Live Don't get HDNet so didn't know they had a WCL show. Didn't see any cameras last night, so don't think they were recording. But you never know. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Apr 2007 01:08:52 -0400 From: "Mark E. In contrast, I saw about 15 minutes of the Rhett Miller one, it really made me wish I'd seen all of it. (OTOH I see it's coming on DVD.) > but it's been great for the most part. > Tomorrow morning is Marshall Crenshaw, followed tomorrow evening by Joshua > Redman.
