It looks like the release date for Over the Hills is March 13 (of course it WOULD come out when I'm likely going to be out of the country). No word on complete track listings yet. So far we know it includes New songs: Over the Hill Manhattan Moon Amelia The Gift Out Beyond? Covers: More Than This Ring of Fire The Swimming Song Any others that I'm missing? _________________________________________________________________ From photos to predictions, The MSN Entertainment Guide to Golden Globes has it all. http://tv.msn.com/tv/globes2007/?icid=nctagline1 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jan 2007 10:02:25 EST From: CandyAsman@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Long time ... Well since the list is quiet, this is probably a good time to mention this... Is anyone interested in doing another "list gift" for the new cd? For the newcomers on the list, for the past few cds we have done something to celebrate the new cd release. For Every Single Day we compiled a scrapbook of memorabilia and messages from all of us to give to her and for The Red Thread/Molly's adoption we collected donations for Half the Sky (and raised over $1400! plus sent a box of clothes and toys to an orphanage in China). You can see pictures http://www.lucykaplansky.net/bookgallery.html and http://www.lucykaplansky.net/halfthesky.html So, is there interest in doing something for the new cd? I don't think we can top the last gift (as she still tells me it's the best gift she's ever received every time I see her) but I'm willing to organize it again if we want to try! All I can think of right now is to make another donation to Half the Sky but I am completely open to suggestions. If we are going to do another "fundraiser" of sorts I'd be happy to once again offer a "thank you gift" for donating a certain amount. Either (or both) a cd filled with various interviews through the years and/or a DVD with various clips (Early Show interview/singing LOTL, 5 songs and interviews from the Faith and Values channel or whatever it was called, and I can see whatever else I can dig up (does anyone have a tape of the Cry Cry Cry Early show or Survivor analyses??)). So any ideas, comments??? - -Kristen _________________________________________________________________ Your Hotmail address already works to sign into Windows Live Messenger! Your idea of giving to charity, etc. works but let us try to think of something "lucy" to do that is creative, meaningful and enhances the lives of others. Also I do not know you but lovers of lucy and her music should not need added incentives to participate, it is only my feeling and opinion but either you have it in your heart to do so or if you do not feel it, do not. The contributions can be on an "as able" basis, but the more who participate globally the better. Clearly it should celebrate life and celebrate the new CD. How about each of us think and reflect and email if only to indicate interest in participating by January 18? I am open and eager, Clearly "...together we can do what we cannot do alone...." Anyone creative have any ideas. I'm too bogged down with biogeochemistry and geomicrobiology to direct my brain that way :) Also I do not know you but lovers of lucy and her music should not need >added incentives to participate, it is only my feeling and opinion but >either >you have it in your heart to do so or if you do not feel it, do not. The >contributions can be on an "as able" basis, but the more who participate >globally >the better. I completely agree that in a perfect world that would be how it is, but the incentive pushed us from ~$50 in donations last year up to over $600 and then a few people made very large, wonderful donations to bring it up to $1421 (I believe it was). If it will help that much more money go towards a wonderful charity like Half the Sky then it's something I'm very happy to offer. >Clearly it should celebrate life and celebrate the new CD. The other possibility other than HTS that I was thinking of is a charity that is somehow related to her father since many of the songs on the cd are directly/indirectly about/related to him, his life and death. - -K _________________________________________________________________ Dave vs. Carl: The Insignificant Championship Series.
