Madison is a very charming, historic town. Hope you got to see some of the old houses and the Ohio River. We are standing on the rooftops We are circling like sparrows We are tiny, we are trembling, Scared of everything But the heart is still a red wing - --"Redwing" written by Dan Messe, from Hem's CD "Eveningland" Date: Mon, 22 May 2006 14:06:59 -0400 From: "Pat Grismore" Subject: [lucy-list] New Songs: Amelia and That's what you do Hey all, Made the 2hr. drive over to the Ohio River Valley Folk Festival in quaint little Madison, Indiana to see Lucy on Saturday. We had a beautifully clear day in the low 70's My companion was a Lucy virgin, so it was a real treat for her. I had loaded up her iPod earlier in the week, and she was excited to see her live. She played a pretty standard set list (which I didn't keep), starting off with "He Thinks I Still Care" . The new song "Amelia" was about a woman who stays in an unhappy, emotionally abusive relationship all her life and reflects on how it could have been different. At least that's my take on it. She stated that it was a very new songs and had a cheat sheet for lyrics. She also mentioned that she will start recording a new album in August, yipee! For the fashion conscience, she wore a white Tee shirt and jeans, and was having a good hair day for being in a river valley. The other song I heard her play back in March in Covington, KY. It is about a man who seems to have relationship issues, the chorus goes something like this: Maybe sometime you should lose a little sleep, die inside a little bit too, Maybe sometime you can stand by her, Oh like you promised to, cause don't you know, when you love someone, that's what you do. A nice dark song in the style of Dr. Lucy. Anyone else heard these songs?
