But, there is a bit of Lucy content. I was very privileged to be able to attend Lowen and Navarro tape a Folkscene segment recently. Somehow Lucy came up. They told me that they started doing backup for her, impromptu, at Falcon Ridge, I believe. She had no idea who they even were. Anyway, as some of you might know, Eric has ALS and unfortunately it is steadily progressing, but he can still play and sing. I think that they are going to try to do Falcon Ridge. But, they are really winding down what they call their "Gratitude Tour." If you get a chance to see them, please do yourself a favor and go. There will be no other chances if you are outside of LA and even those appearances are numbered. Eric is an inspiration in many ways. The music is wonderful and he is singing in a more heartfelt way than ever before, even if there are little mistakes here and there in his playing and singing and you can hear the weakness a bit in his voice. You might also want to keep an ear out for the new Sheraton commercials that feature their song "We Belong to the Night." I don't know who is singing it though. Also, there is a fund set up for Eric to help cover his medical needs in the future. If you are moved to contribute, please do so at their site www.lownav.com. They were interviewed on NPR once and Bob Edwards called them "neck deep in integrity and oozing with talent." Don't miss these guys. Gina P.S. I think the NPR interview as well as some songs are archived on the NPR web site. ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V8 #19 ****************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
