The Fairfield, CT show last Saturday was great. Richard went first (as usual of late he was sitting--which I think is due to his wanting to concentrate on playing the electric guitar. He had some great solos that he's doing (and some not so great parts ;) but I guess he's still working those out). He looked comfortable and sounded great. His setlist is below and my only dissapointment was that he didn't bring Lucy out to sing on any songs. Northbound 35 Mavis Senor (with the Mr. Zimmerman introduction which to my amusement the people behind me were trying to figure out who Mr. Zimmerman was for the next hour :)) Cancion Sencilla Fenario Big Muddy Reunion Hill Transit A short intermission and then Lucy came out. She looked really tired when she first got on stage but got more into it around her 4th song. God Will Line in the Sand I've Just Seen a Face When you Love Someone That's What You Do (I LOVE this new song...very Lucy...just wonderful!) - -she brought Richard out for the next two songs Ten Year Night (the harmony on this and Richard playing the electric guitar was just unbelievable...I actually had tears in my eyes at one point) Someday Soon This is Home Brooklyn Train Manhattan Moon (which I love and am so glad she hasn't changed any lyrics since the last time I saw her!) - -Lucy then asked for requests for her last song, started to do Guinevere, stoped to say that Robin Batteau lived near there and when everyone started to applaude she thought he was there (the applause was do to Richard racing across the stage to join her)...after turning in circles she figured it out :) Encores: A very cute discussion between the two of them before they started and were tuning about which one of them was out of tune during Guinevere. By Way of Sorrow Cold Missouri Waters Second Encore: Love Hurts (I could have died very happy after hearing then do that live FINALLY!) A great show all in all...got to see Benay and Donna (it's been too long!) and meet Bonnie. And then after chat a bit with Richard about the paleontology of Argentina. Oh yes....for those wondering..."Everyone knows but me" on the new Tide was recorded during Flesh and Bone :) - -K ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V7 #73 ****************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
