Depending on the subject, limp is not really a good thing. I apologize, sort of, for not having a whole lot of Lucy Kaplansky, John Gorka or Christine Lavin content in this note. But, I would like to take a moment to draw your attention to one of Lucy, Christine and John's friends. I'm speaking about Cliff Eberhardt, whose touring, quite frankly, had softened a bit too. But, things are firming up and he is going to be around a lot more from now through the end of the year - especially on the West Coast, where we typically don't get to see too much of him. If you don't know Cliff, he is the one who wrote "Goodnight" that Lucy does so beautifully. He also has done a few recordings with John G and they are good friends. Lucy recently requested that he sing "Goodnight" at the Gig Harbor Folk Festival. He is a very delightful performer in every way and I encourage all Lucy, John and Christine fans to go see him. Also, if you are a Cheryl Wheeler fan, you will probably enjoy Cliff. She and Cliff seem like male and female counterparts and are indeed, very dear and special friends. As for Christine, you die-hard fans will recognize Cliff as the one who held Jingles by the ear and sneered at the camera. Cliff's guitar playing can't be beat. His voice is unique and wonderful. Plus, he is a hoot. So, do yourself a favor and come out and see the guy that Christine Lavin calls "The Bad Boy of Folk Music."
