A mere 4 mile drive from my home, and I was at the winery. After I arrive, I talked with one of the owner's who is serving wine, cedar, and water. I turn around, and there's Lucy! "HI Paul!" she exclaimed. Lucy was very animated, which I will detail later on. She did say she doesn't drink wine, but cider was ok! After a short set by a Warwick 14 year old boy (he played Richard Shindell's "I Saw My Youth Today", and "The Things I See), Lucy came on at 4:00PM. She wore a white short sleeved t-shirt, and blue jeans. During her set, she told many stories about Molly. This morning, Molly asked her to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". In addition, Molly does not like Lucy to wear lipstick. Rick was walking Molly around the winery, and I saw them playing on a gravel pit during Lucy's set. Lucy remarked that it was the first time she played at a winery, and next to a pear tree. She was animated, and her enthusiasm showed through the entire set. The setlist: It may not be in the right order: He Still Thinks I Care I Had Something Don't Mind Me Ten Year Night Land of The Living Line In The Sand untitled new song (That's what love is for) The Heart (!) The Red Thread End of The Day E: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (first two verses) E: The Tide (dedicated to a woman sitting up front) She played for 1 hour, and afterwards signed fans CD's, while holding Molly with her left arm. It had been 2+ years since I'd seen Lucy, and this short set renewed my spirit in her music. I hope to see some of you again Paul Rafanello ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V7 #54 ****************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
