As it happens, I was secretly conspiring to fly out to see those shows on a personal "dad's weekend off" junket after missing ALL THREE of Lucy's November shows here in Minnesota due to family scheduling conflicts. (Argh!) I figured they would probably not be "solo" shows. But, as it goes, I never got around to poppin' the question or making the frequent flier reservations. Guess it would have been a heckuva poor weekend to be travelling on a "free ticket"! 38 inches of snow up in Salem! 80 mile-per-hour winds off the ocean! >>>Rick Litvin.....it was his first video. A quick check of the credits confirmed that I did hear her right. Now I know that Rick is a Film & TV lecturer at NYU, and that Lucy and Shawn are old pals, but I didn't realise there was another connection.<<< Regarding Mr. Litvin. The night I first made his acquaintence (back in 97-98 or thereabouts), I had arisen from my seat during a Lucy show and climbed up into the balcony to take still shots of her from a high perch with an unobstruced view. (Some of those shots are still on her website, by the way.) Well this long-haired guy was video-taping her alongside me and it turned out later during the meet-and-greet to be her husband, Rick. He said he was doing it for some possible future project. Well, now that we know that he can see one these video thangs to completion, me wonders if there is any plan to share any video footage he has taken over the years. Travel woes aside, I think if I had managed to get INTO the city, it would have been a fun weekend to slog around in boots and ride the subways.
