My good friends at eBay email me whenever the name 'Kaplansky' appears in an auction. Here's an unusual item that came up today: - --------------------------- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3775225443&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1 KAPLANSKY CUP/PEN HOLDER Up for auction is handmade clay drinking cup/pen holder signed by Kaplansky. From 1983, this multi-colored 3 5/8" x 3 1/2" cup is signed by the artist. This one of kind piece would make a great executive gift! - ----------------------------------------- Since the price of this little thing is $50, this looks like more than a little bauble. Has anybody heard of a pottery artist named Kaplansky? It's a new one to me. By the way, I once bought (very inexpensively) a little glass bottle from the 30s from a Kaplansky and Moran Drug Store with the name of the store embossed in the bottle and gave it to Our Heroine. Lucy said she'd keep it in her apartment. (Or is that just what artists tell you when they mean "until I take out the trash") Rick V vosmo ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2005 12:24:10 -0800 (PST) From: Gina Golde Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Kaplansky the potter? Rick! You gave that Kaplansky and Moran bottle away? I just saw one like it on the Antiques Roadshow and it was worth $2K! I just saw one like it on the Antiques Roadshow and it was worth $2K! And that's why I get in free to every Lucy concert I go to. Plus, all the coffee I can drink therein. ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V7 #6 ***************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
