Didn't realize she was still out there. I should check that out. mm ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jan 2005 00:00:47 -0500 From: "Doug Fuller" Subject: Re: [lucy-list] I know it's 2005, but I'm running late..... - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark E. A couple of funny moments: - The show I saw was the day the Red Sox won the pennant against the Yankees. Where the show was held (Paradise) has a lounge next to the club which was packed with people watching the baseball game. Sam started the show with a quiet solo acoustic number. The Sox scored a couple of runs and the crowd in the lounge erupted. So much so that everyone in the club, Sam included, heard it. She stopped mid song due to the distraction and the whole place busted out in laughter. She said there was no way she could continue with that song since the mood was ruined. I think of this memorable moment often in the context of "what are the chances..." - She had what I believe was a small cassette tape player that had a recorded track of something on it (can't remember exactly what it was) and she held it up to the microphone and used it to accompany her singing a song. A couple of time she shook the tape player which caused a wavering sound. VERY creative and entertaining. The band was also quite interesting and the played a number of vintage and unique instruments. Good show.
