There were A LOT of Clinton haters, but the country was not this divided. There was not this much angst and anxiety over his presidency and the best the Republicans could come up with was some affair with an intern to bring him down. I think we all see how trivial that all seems now. If only the biggest blunder Bush has made was to have an affair....There is so much about the Bush administration and the fact that they are SO FAR TO THE RIGHT that is dividing this country. Much of the hatred is being sewn by them. They want this. They want anyone who does not think they do, to not have a voice. They proliferate this hatred through their social policies and by governing with the use of FEAR. All tyrants govern with the use of instilling fear in their people. (Not calling Bush a tyrant, just saying it's a dangerous way to govern). It's his extremist governing that is causing this country to be so divided. We need someone more moderate in their social policies and their international policies in order to help bring this country to a more unified heart. I've had several friends either travel through Europe or spend some time back in their homeland over the past year or so. The level of hatred for this president is like none I have ever experienced. It is not just Americans. It is the world that is watching. It is the world that is waiting for this election to happen. Do you know the German Green Party uses pictures of Bush for their Anti-Cloning Campaign on their billboards? Just a very small, but not insignificant example of how much he is disliked worldwide. I forgot who said it, but I read a quote recently that said something like..If you only supported artists and musicians who aren't democrats or more liberal, you wouldn't have much to choose from in the entertainment industry. You basically would stop listening to much (except christian and nashville country) and probably should stop seeing any sort of movies or theater productions. If you want to wipe art out of your life because they support a different political view OR because they use their influence to support what is important to them, then you're going to have a soulless life with out much art. I realize that most pro athletes are very religious and most like more conservative. That is not going to stop me from tuning in next year to watch the Red Sox come back and beat the Yankees again. :-) Rose On Friday, October 29, 2004, at 07:51 PM, Thomas J.
