Probably no "real" connection, but it was kinda cool/brought a smile, anyway. ~Richard ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 May 2004 07:51:56 -0400 From: "Mark E. Yep- I saw it on DVD a month or two ago; when we were watching it I said something like "I'll take songs covered by Lucy for $200, Alex" mm ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 May 2004 08:55:44 -0400 From: "Donna Myers" Subject: [lucy-list] Lost in Translation Thanks for reminding me to see "Lost in Translation". We'll be traveling to Tokyo and China this summer and was told it's a must see. As for Lucy covers.I love her version of Amy Correia's, "Life is Beautiful" on Kristen's Half the Sky cd! Since I hadn't seen the movie, it went over my head. I think she said something like "I've always sung that song like Bryan Ferry's version, but Since seeing Lost In Translation, I've been doing it like Bill Murray." Does that make any sense? The disclaimer is that that's what I recall her saying (whether that's exactly what she said......). I recall that when I first started listening to her, she was described (in tag lines and bullet items on album covers) as somebody who did "vocal interpretations" or some such phrase, and always thought that was apt. mm ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 May 2004 16:47:52 -0400 From: bbubar@hearst.com Subject: [lucy-list] Land of the Living, in real life An article in today's NY Times discusses the taxi drivers praying at La Guardia Airport (among other places)... http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/28/nyregion/28pray.html ========================================================= This e-mail message is intended only for the personal use of the recipient(s) named above.
