No time to write a real review... at least not right now. But I'll say it was an EXCELLENT show with an awesome setlist. Ashland Coffee and Tea is a GREAT venue, and I think Lucy must really like it -- she always seems so relaxed there, and I've seen some of my favorite Lucy shows there! Two songs I've never heard Lucy sing and two other rarities all in ONE show? Deep sigh...wishing I'd been there...but happy to see the set list anyway! Thanks, Libby... (Belated thanks to Theresa for the Ann Arbor review as well---glad you were able to go even if you did have to leave Hannah for one night!) Sidenote: I was in a Barnes & Noble here in NY the other day and caught sight of Lucy without even looking...The Red Thread was smack on the end of the first row of the Pop/Rock section as I entered the store! Granted, it was a display of independent music, but there it was, eye-catching and nowhere near the folk section. Then when I got to the folk section itself, not particularly looking for Lucy there either...well, the section might as well have been labeled "Lucy Kaplansky and other artists"---not only was Lucy front and center in the music stacks, but The Red Thread was plastering the display shelf right above as well! Not even I, ardent fan that I am, would have had the audacity to set things up to promote Lucy that thoroughly! It almost made me want to buy the album through sheer unintentional exposure...until I reminded myself that I already had it. :-) Benay ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 May 2004 9:10:54 -0400 From: Subject: Re: [lucy-list] HTS CD > From: "Donald Anderson" > > Just a public thank you to Kristen for producing such a great collection of > Lucy rarities - singing along with "House Of The Rising Sun" on my way to work > yesterday certainly was a good start to the day > > Donald > I agree with Donald--a great collection. My only gripe is that I keep hitting my head on the shelf trying to read the track listing on the CD. Nice to know the Postal service is efficient :) Glad you all enjoy it...I think it's my favorite compilation I've ever put together. Especially the old version of Guilty As Sin (man how I wish she hadn't changed so much!! Oh well!). Anyways...glad to hear that people have received them successfully, hopefully everyone should have them by now, or very soon. Enjoy!
