Went home and gave it a first listen and liked it very much. Heard Land of the Living on local public radio on my way to the grocery store later in the day. Listened to TRT later again with my wife and liked it more than I had on the first listen. Phil wrote: > (w. apologies to lucy-listers having no interest in NYC > subways) No need to apologize to me. I'm way on the other side of the country and absolutley loved this little thread, especially sharon's post explaining the changes and which lines she uses. All those little details give me the vicarious thrill of being in New York (without the Februray weather!) It's so simple... All you do is, turn off the lights in the room you are in, while leaving a bright light on in the next room. The bugs will be attracted to the light, and after they zoom out, go out and turn off the light and run back into your room for a peaceful night's sleep. (keeping the door closed after that, of course) :-) No more chasing bugs with magazines for me! (Not even my closet or bathroom doors close fully enough to trap a fly therein.) Of course, a light can still be useful...I am currently doing occasional battle with TWO more random February flies, and I've got a halogen lamp on because I've learned from past experience that sometimes if you're lucky and patient, flies will eventually investigate a halogen light and politely fry themselves (though somehow I bet this idea is never going to make it into Hints from Heloise!). But I'm still also keeping my fly swatter at the ready, albeit now in the form of last weekend's Sunday Times Magazine---the Performing Songwriter has been retired from active duty! Alice, along with Billy Corgan, Rick Nielsen, Harold Ramis, and several others, will be a part of Chicago Cubs history. This coming Thursday evening, all will gather at Harry Caray's Restaurant, for the ceremonial destruction of the infamous "foul ball". Elements will be broadcast live on national television. It will also serve as a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
