Hope others managed to listen too. (The host even acknowledged those of us listening online, which was kind of fun!) Lucy sounded relaxed and cheerful, though the fact that she was talking by phone made her sound noticeably far away (as, of course, she was). She explained the concept of the red thread and talked about the experience of going to China and adopting Molly and how moving it was when the people there came up to them and said something that presumably meant that Molly was a lucky baby...basically, it was a lot like what she wrote in her last letter to her fans, but still fun to hear her describe. She talked about how she gets emotional and has had trouble getting through certain songs onstage since they got Molly, but is getting better at it. The host then asked (rather wistfully, since Lucy hadn't been to Kansas in a long time) whether there would be a live album to bring the experience of live shows to fans who didn't often get the chance to see her...Lucy said maybe someday, but not now. After the conversation, the station played The Red Thread and I Had Something. All in all, a neat little interlude in the midst of a busy work day. (Nice station you've got out there in the midwest, too...Mary Palmer, the host, was pleasant, and there was something just generally very calming about sitting in the middle of New York City and hearing about the weather in Kansas and southeastern Colorado..maybe I'll listen more often!) Now I'm off the hook. ;-) I"m glad to hear you where able to listen in. > (The host even acknowledged those of us > listening online, which was kind of fun!) I had given Mary Palmer, the host, a heads up that I was posting to the list and that many of you may be listening in. > The host then asked (rather wistfully, since Lucy hadn't been to Kansas in a long > time) You're not kidding there. >(Nice station you've got out there in the midwest, too...Mary Palmer, the host, > was pleasant, and there was something just generally very calming > about sitting in the middle of New York City and hearing about the > weather in Kansas and southeastern Colorado..maybe I'll listen more > often!) And here I sit in Western Kansas listening to the drive times in NYC over WFUV.
