May I just say...I've been listening for the past week to the new cd " Afterglow " from Sarah McLachlan. It is ( in the absence till next year of Lucy's new cd) absolutely gorgeous ! It's a real "grower".....great songs, great muscianship...all-in-all just lovely music to listen to ! Enjoy !! Best regards to all, John Blackley. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2003 08:29:47 -0500 From: Benay Bubar Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Whilst Lucy has Molly on her mind... > May I just say...I've been listening for the past week to the new cd " > Afterglow " from Sarah McLachlan. > It is ( in the absence till next year of Lucy's new cd) absolutely > gorgeous ! Hmmm, I've heard quite a few good reports on that one from people whose taste I trust. My CD tower just recently became officially FULL, but I guess this is another one to add to my continually reformulating thought: "I have no more space, so I'm not going to buy ANY more CDs except Lucy's upcoming new one and........." Unfortunately, that sentence in its complete form is now almost as long as pi...I will soon need a mnemonic to remember it. I think that 'angel' and 'i will remember you' are two of the m,ost hauntingly beautiful songs ever recorded, esp as both were played much following 9/11 i found in the week of my 2 week trip stateside that remained....... She has a gorgeous voice, I found the mirrirball cd hard going though. Protect your identity with Yahoo! Sarah was my favorite singer for years (since Solace) until i discovered Lucy and she got moved to 2nd place. I LOVE Fallen and Stupid, my only complaint is that the songs all sounds pretty much the same and her lyrics, which have always been know for being intricate, are a little simplistic this time. But I do reccommend it (unless you own NO Sarah and in that case run and get Fumbling Towards Ecstasy...i can't believe efvery music lover does not own that cd!) Another fantastic new cd which has been in constant rotation for me since 10:00 yesterday morning is Tori's new cd Tales of a Librarian...brilliant cd from a brilliant woman. It's a cd and dvd. The cd has 16 old remastered and/or re-recorded favorites from Little Earthquakes up to To Venus and Back, 2 B-sides (including one of the most beautiful songs, and one of the best songs I've ever heard about Mary Magdalene, Mary, on it) and 2 brand new songs. PLus the dvd has 3 other songs live in soundcheck. an instrumental version of Putting the Damage On, and new recordings of Putting the Damage On and Mr. Zebra in the background as they show a photo history of her career. That would be 26 songs for a mere 11.99 at Best Buy....Run and get this!!! And the package is gorgeous and brilliantly based on the Dewy Decimal system and all lyrics are included so for those of you who can't understand what wierd words she's using...now you can! :) OK that's it for now...Just couldn't resist plugging Tori's new cd :) - -K >From: Benay Bubar >Reply-To: lucy-list@smoe.org >To: lucy-list@smoe.org >Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Whilst Lucy has Molly on her mind... >Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2003 08:29:47 -0500 > >>May I just say...I've been listening for the past week to the new cd " >>Afterglow " from Sarah McLachlan. >>It is ( in the absence till next year of Lucy's new cd) absolutely >>gorgeous ! > >Hmmm, I've heard quite a few good reports on that one from people whose >taste I trust.
