It was a HORRIBLE drive down... Traffic leaving DC has been awful on the weekends. Took me a good long time to get to Ashland. But it was well worth it. Sadly, I missed Susan's first song... but the rest of her set was brilliant. Everyone seems to enjoy playing Ashland. She was very relaxed and chatty with the audience. I especially enjoyed "Sorry About Jesus" followed by the prayer-card driving song. Ohhh... and she finished with "May I Suggest"... always a treat. I remembered that the last time I'd heard Susan Werner at Ashland, I was on a date.... a not so good date! It was nice to be.... unattached. :) Lucy came out... started with Cowboy Singer... and got great reception. She's said before that she loves Ashland... and Ashland certainly loves her. :) She seemed very relaxed, and that made for a great show. Setlist and stories were pretty much what's been posted lately. She did Pi by request with audience snap-along... and THE JACKET was great.... Driving home... I realized that it was just about a year ago... I was driving that route from Richmond back home to DC after playing a gig in Richmond.... the DC-sniper had shot in Ashland that night... and 95 was closed from Richmond to Baltimore. I pulled off at a rest stop and slept for a couple of hours. Creepy... it's especially been on the brain lately because of the beginning of the first trial.... BUT.... I'm definitely looking forward to this Saturday's Birchmere show. No sniper, no date... ahhhh.... excellent. News news news... The order for the CD is in... MY CD will be out in a matter of weeks. Thanks for all the pre-orders! The Wait-a-While Estates is on its way! Later... I've gotta get some sleep. :) Libby ===== - ----------- libbywiebel@yahoo.com http://www.libbywiebel.com "You'll take yourself to the Wait-a-While Estates..." - Album release, only 3 weeks away! http://www.libbywiebel.com ~ http://mp3.washingtonpost.com/bands/libby_wiebel.shtml __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
