First, thanks to everyone who signed my T-shirt "invitation" to give to my doc, so that he will be enticed to come to FRFF, and apologies to those whom I missed. You're there in spirit. I'm sure he will love it! I heard little bits of Lucy on the workshop stage. I was a bit choked up when she got choked up before singing "For Once in Your Life." I kind of floated (metaphorically and otherwise) around the grounds, because there were so many folks I wanted to see, I didn't spend too much time in one place, or in one camp. Didn't even make it to Happytown over on Flamingo Ridge. I also spent some time with Shelley, the woman whose family camped next to me, because her husband worked for one of the vendors and she had to spend a lot of time being a "stay-at-home" FRFF mom for a girl of about 9 and a boy of about 2, and, especially by the end of Arlo on Sat. night, she was grateful for some grown-up conversation. Other things: Loved the Kennedys throughout the weekend, especially the set at Granata Guitars! Yay for "I'll Run Red Lights for You" -- a rare time when I actually shout out a request, let alone get to hear it -- and slipping into some Marvin Gaye! Did anyone else catch that spectacular falling star on Friday night? I hope all of our wishes come true! Great to see some faves again, including Lucy, Dar, Nields, DaVinci's Notebook, EFO, and others, along with seeing for the first time: Richard Shindell, John Gorka, Richard Thompson, Patty Larkin and Arlo. As I posted elsewhere, I was watching Sunday afternoon's mainstage show, singing along from Richard on and just was wowed that 6-7 years ago, I didn't even know of all these people, including Richard and Lucy, and now I know all the words to such great songs! And know some great people who also love this music! See everyone next year! Thanks Benay- for the name of the Beatle song...it was driving me crazy. We missed you on Sunday. It was so nice to see and meet so many Lucy-listers!! We need to organize a meeting place next year. The music has been reviewed....so I'll go to the tarp run! Now I know why Elaine didn't want to run a second time. Thanks to Timothy for sleeping in the rain and for Sharon who was my guide. I've heard other festivals use lottery systems for placing tarps on the ground. Has anyone on the list experienced this method? My children enjoyed the festival as well. Besides Lucy, their favorite performers were the Kennedys and Tracy Grammer. We have been listening to Dave & Tracy nonstop. It is wonderful to expose them to this great music at 8 & 10 yrs old! This year we took them to Bash Bish Falls and the swimming hole at Taconic State Park. The falls were beautiful and the water was like ice!! Thanks for the tip! I'll end with my opinion of Lucy's new song, "The Thread".....simply beautiful!!!
