(maybe a lil air guitar?) ... oh oh ... >> > > And a BANANA! ;) > > Bill from NH Explanatory notes: For anybody who's joined us recently and doesn't know (because some might not, and I know how frustrating inside jokes can be), that's a joke from the story Lucy used to tell onstage: a guy once asked her to sign a banana after a show, and she did, and then she mentioned it onstage at a show she did with Cheryl Wheeler and Cheryl Wheeler piped up with "THAT was no banana!" and Lucy turned bright red. And...Dierk lives in Germany and is seeing Lucy tonight, LIVE, in L.A., for the first time EVER!!! OK, we've covered that already. But I'm still excited about it and wish I could be there. (Not that I have that long to wait to see Lucy at Falcon Ridge...though I am probably going to have to miss her in Hoboken, NJ on Wednesday night, which pains me because it's so close and yet such bad timing in myriad ways. A plug for that show, though, if anyone can go: while I've heard the venue is not the most comfortable---i.e., standing room only---the opener is Amy Speace and she was pretty enjoyable opening for the Nields at Makor a couple of weeks ago. I'd certainly go if it were feasible.) Benay who will be working much of the day and then seeing Chris and Meredith Thompson tonight in her very own borough of Brooklyn...hey, maybe now that Lucy AND the Thompsons have played in Brooklyn, it will become a folk trend and everyone will come...the Brooklyn Folk Festival...featuring bagels and juice for everybody in my apartment, plus a round of ice cream for card-carrying Lucy-list members...hey, if the Lucy-list HAD membership cards, I wonder what they would say...oh, well, back to cold hard reality for now, which is work and waiting for the exterminator so my Ten Year Night parody Bug Fear Night does not get a sequel... ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jul 2003 02:07:11 -0400 From: Bn2Synthsz@aol.com Subject: [lucy-list] A successful mission at McCabes Hey all, Just got back to my hotel room in Santa Monica after the Lucy show at McCabes. Suffice it to say that Dierk's wish came true. He got to see and meet Lucy. And a picture was taken. I'll leave the full review to the most capable Dierk who took all the notes! I'm heading for home in Boston early in the a.m. Kathy p.s. Great show! ;-) ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V5 #150 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
