Yes, it has been a life-long dream of mine to have my picture appear in Rolling Stone. Countless concerts I have been to, always making sure that I was dressed in proper rock-n-roll attire in-the-likely event (in my mind) that I would be photographed back-stage or in the audience at some show and bingo! there I would be, albeit unnamed, on the glossary pages of the Rolling Stone. Well, it's not Rolling Stone, but it is the current June 23rd issue of a glossary magazine titled "New York." If you'all would be so kind as to check out page 37, in the article entitled "Once Around the Park," an article/photo essay marking the 150th birthday of the park's dedication. Yes folks, in the 1981 black & white photo of the audience/crowd at Simon & Garfunkel's reunion concert at Central Park, I can be found under the subject-of-the-photo, a man/fan, well, I can be found under his left arm's armpit! I have long hair, past my shoulder, and a smile. (A guy holding a rolled-up paper of some sort is seated in front of me). My question, dear Lucy-list-mates, is as follows: Is this the best I can hope to get and I should give up on Rolling Stone, - or - is this "New York" magazine a mere stepping stone to Rolling Stone pictorial greatness for me? Now, it wouldn't hurt for Rolling Stone to do an interview with Lucy and print my 1976 photos of her with a photo credit to me. Perhaps, that would be close enough, especially in conjunction with my recent "New York" magazine accomplishment. Me & Jackson took the LIRR to Penn Station early in the morning and got to Central Park early enough to sit fairly close to the stage (it was stage right). It was cool hearing "The Boxer" echo around the buildings & streets of New York from the Park. I remember the details of the day well. By-the-way, I had my Dad in NY turn to page 37 of his magazine today to pick me out from the crowd without any hints from me, so, we would know I'm not dreaming. Enjoy your weekend, I'll enjoy my 15 minutes of kind-of fame.
