Hey y'all lucy-listers! I am happy to report that I am on VACATION this week! After a grueling second week of a two-week-notice, a grouchy 10-day houseguest, and a whole week before I start my new job... I've reclaimed my bathroom... My roommate and I have reclaimed our fridge... I'm definitely ready for a little R&R! Twas good to see a couple of you at the Birchmere last week. And speaking of the Birch, will we have a Birchmere party in October when Lucy and Susan Werner play? Oct 25, I believe... but check the schedules to be sure... Yes, yes... it probably shows some special kind of obsession to already have tickets for an October show... *grin* So... I'm not 100% sure yet, but there's a chance that I'll drive up to King of Prussia for next weekend's show... anyone else going to be there? I went last year and really enjoyed it... kind of a FRFF prevue... sitting outdoors on a hill, listing to good music.... :) Shoot me some mail if you plan on being there, and perhaps we can arrange a little pre-show picnic and/or some blanket sharing. Libby p.s. ... What's the scoop on the new album? Last I heard at a show, Lucy said that she'd start recording this summer... There have been a number of shows since that, though... Any other news? Songs? :) ===== - ----------- libbywiebel@yahoo.com http://www.libbywiebel.com "I was born in Normal Town, south of Rural Village, near Family Ground..." (copied to the Dar-list) I gotta agree with Sharon's point here... >>>that if camp dar needs to move ..then the cars that park on the hill are the ones who need to move .. not the camp<<< Sub-obtimal horizontality (?!?) aside....the Camp Dar hill is one prime camping space! If I were so reclined, I could watch the mainstage from my tent window! And, if not us, then SOMEONE else's group is gonna pitch THEIR tents there when no-one is looking. That's a sure bet. In past years, that entire side of that hill along the walkway gets filled-up and tents even pop up overnight in restricted areas over the "third base line" so-to-speak...into the left field corner, (which is technically seating area and off-limits to tents). Some of these tents eventually get moved...but some don't. People will do crazy things trying to secure a little piece of nice festival real estate that appears to have not yet been "taken". I think if FRFF just stretches some yellow tape out to make a car-parking limit at the top and the bottom, then all will be fine on that hill. But woe to Camp Dar if they get re-located "on the fly". It is a pretty loose-knit group from various states and even various nationalities. I don't think they would do a very good job of relocating and finding one another "en masse" or, if they do succeed at that, securing a large enough space for the expected 50+ people who wanna camp together. I think the early birds should persist in promoting Sharon's vision here. Tents but no cars at all. Assuming I don't hook up with a rider, I can be there by 3:00 PM Wednesday if I can be of any assistance with this... Nice bunch of folks, Camp Dar. And, like I said before, it's the closest thing to a "Kamp Kaplansky" that yer gonna find at FRFF! ETimothy in south Minneapolis (A suggestion" If they tell us no-tents are allowed on our hilly spot, then lay our mainstage tarps down on the spot instead. That way, when they do eventually give-in to the pressure on Thursday, we still have our time-honored spot. Sound workable? We need the tarps out anyway for the Thursday morning tarp run anyway, right? And that way, they'll all be out for our groggy tarp runners to grab first thing in the morning.) ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V5 #124 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
