Amen for "Hole in My Head" and "I'm Looking Through You"! I do believe that the premier performance of "Looking" at FRFF last year in the workshops.... WOW.... was one of the best, partially because of the somewhat-impromptu nature of it... and the broken strings... that always helps bring the "rocker" out. :) For kicks and fun.... http://mp3.washingtonpost.com/bands/libby_wiebel.shtml I've got brand new MP3's up.... all of the songs except "Lonely" are from my new album! I'm getting closer to having it done eacy day... :) Libby ===== - ----------- libbywiebel@yahoo.com http://www.libbywiebel.com "I was born in Normal Town, south of Rural Village, near Family Ground..." I never really liked the original, thought it was too flat. Lucy rocked it up :-) ~simona ===== Simona L. The Brinsley Schwarz original original in 1974 had their great pub-country-rock groove and was a live favourite for years, while I always thought the Nick Lowe & Friends 79 version (Elvis Costello etc) packed a bit of a punch as well. Maybe time's warping my perspective! Talking of rocking, Eliza Gilkyson (who name-checked the Doc) ended her first UK tour last night in Chichester with a blistering set weighing in, with several encores, at over two hours. Jeff Plankenhorn (hope that's the right spelling) was a mesmerising sidekick and the Iraq war song 'Highway 9', which really, really rocked, is destined to be a classic. Like Lucy, she promised to be back over here next year, having loved the audiences. Yeah...it's mutual, so how about some of you performing listers coming over and treating us to your talents???? I promoted her gig here in Wales and she was truly outstanding! We ate together, showed her our beautiful mountains, lakes and wild red kites... and she was such a gracious woman She name checked Lucy twice during her set and clearly admires her work.
