She talked this morning about the songs they'd all done together at the end---Angel of the Morning and Take Me to the River---and how unbelievable it had sounded, and how she had seen a few people leaving before the end and wanted to grab them because it was like leaving before the end of a baseball game, you just didn't know what would happen...and how the harmonies had been incredible. She gave Patty's and Susan's approximate dates of return to the area but didn't have Lucy's next area date (there I was saying, "APRIL 11TH IN HUNTINGTON WITH RICHARD SHINDELL, Claudia!" but funny how she didn't hear me through my radio). Anyway, clearly I'm not the only one still musing on how great that show was... And now, icing on the cake...WFUV is playing Dar's I Saw a Bird Fly Away...obviously Claudia Marshall is having a good morning! I noticed that you were interested in Susan's song "Some Other Town" and thought it was unrecorded. Well, I am happy to inform you that is indeed recorded. It is on her CD "The Last Of The Good Straight Girls", which I just recently purchased at the Women In Folk show in Rahway, NJ. It's a fabulous cd!!! Take care everyone. Which shows how much I have listened to EARLY Susan Werner lately...and I HAVE that CD, too (blush)...I just always tend to grab for Time Between Trains or New Non-Fiction...it's coming out of hiding again to my CD player shortly! I'm a bit confused about the show on April 11th in Huntington. The IMAC website lists it as being at 9:00 p.m., with Richard Shindell and Lucy Kaplansky. Musi-cal doesn't have it under Richard Shindell, and has it as just Lucy, at 8:00 p.m. I tried to call the IMAC but haven't gotten through. Do any of you have tickets yet, and thus have definitive information? Thanks. Yahoo! If anybody checks their ticket and finds a different starting time before I can get to mine, feel free to chime in...but Richard and Lucy at 9 seems right to me. I went to an IMAC show last year, it was a Harry Chapin benefit, and it was wonderful. I grew up in Huntington and had no idea there was such a gem of a place in my midst! (But then again, I'm not sure I could have appreciated the music showcased there in my teenage years -- my taste has definitely evolved, and mellowed, with age). bbubar@hearst.com wrote:The Huntington show is DEFINITELY both Richard and Lucy---it's on both their official schedules---and although I don't have my ticket right with me at the moment, I am 98% sure the ticket says it starts at 9 p.m. (which I believe, since I think IMAC shows do tend to start that late).
