I saw susan perform two nights in a row after having to cancel another concert just before. She had a touch of laryngitis and was obviuosly very very sick. Yet the show was still amazing music wise although she kept banter to a minimum (unless she was talking about echinicea or flu shots). fortunately i've never had to find out about my other fave artists and what they are like when they are sick. Got to see tracy grammer and richard shindell last night (its been over a year since I saw RS and since FRFF since I saw Tracy). If you get to see either of them soon I would suggest taking the oppurtunity. ~Simona - --- Benay Bubar wrote: (Although even Susan in BAD form would > probably be awfully > good.) ===== Simona L. Anyone care to say something about what they think the differences are between the production of Lucy's albums, as far as Shawn Colvin, Anton Sanko, and Ben Wittman... I have heard people say that the latter two albums are too poppy... And I must admit that I go back to listen to The Tide and Flesh and Bone more than the recent two, even though there are certain songs I like on the newer ones. As wholes though, I like the earlier stuff. I'm not sure if I could articulate why very well.... I do agree that Jennifer Kimball's harmonies are always a good addition. :) Thoughts? Jess PS While we're on the topic, does anyone have any thoughts about producer Jim Rooney? He's worked with Iris DeMent, John Prine, Nanci Griffith, Townes Van Zandt, Hal Ketchum, Bill and Bonnie Hearn and a bunch of others. >I love the production on all of Lucy's albums... but I >particularly love "Ten Year Night." I am more interested in the material for the cd.. and then the producer will be able to work with material... so what will we be hearing.. there are 2 new songs and land of the living that doesnt make an cd... sharon ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V5 #62 ****************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
