I think it proves the point that everyone has a price, even earnest folk music fans. Personally, I would have held out for at least $100k. ;-) Peter ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Jan 2003 07:28:54 -0800 (PST) From: Libby Wiebel Subject: [lucy-list] Re: cowboy singer I'm in digest land lately, so maybe this has already been answered.... But Dave and Tracy's music isn't online, except for a few select things put up by Ron Greitzer (search on google for his name and his site w/ all kinds of cool chords will come up). You need to go to www.daveandtracy.com and buy the songbooks.... which are excellent and include chords, lyrics, and some melodies and violin parts even. Highly recommended. I'm a sucker for sampler cds, where there might be 3 or 4 good cuts and lots of people I've never heard of. For a buck I buy them. Good background music at work. Sometimes I'm pleasanty surprised by some of the unknown artists. So the other day, I'm at Empire Disks and I find this sampler CD from Paste Magazine. I guess it came with the magzine. There were 21 songs, including cuts by Ryan Adams, Aimee Mann, Buddy Miller, Nanci Griffith, Steve Earle, Linda Thompson, Ani DiFranco and Lucy Kaplansky, singing "Small Dark Movie." Pretty neat find. How often do you find Lucy on a sampler? Paste Magazine's website is www.pastemusic.com, and this was Issue 2, sampler Q4 2002.
