But this was it: In the dream, I have unwittingly become embroiled in the activities of some corrupt business underworld. (Details are sketchy, and my actual knowledge of corrupt business underworlds is zilch, but in a dream, one just KNOWS these things.) The situation deepens, and tensions rise...I have insider information I am being begged not to share, although I know...because, in dreams, one knows these things too...that sharing it with the appropriate authorities would be the correct thing to do, might even save the free world. Finally, there arrives the Central Dramatic Moment: the Main Shady Character in the dream offers me a bribe. It is a check for $50,000. (OK, it's not $50 million...it's small change overall, I guess, but to me that's a lot.) I am initially stalwart in my refusal, but then the Main Shady Character pulls out his trump card and says what he knows will tempt me most: "With this money, you can go to any concert you want and know that all your ticket and travel expenses will be covered!" So OK, because it is a dream and because therefore I am the heroine, I do eventually make the moral choice. I still refuse the money and go on and save the free world. But, let me tell you, it is AGONY! (Not sure I'll find THAT one in any dream interpretation book. Methinks perhaps I simply looked a little too long and a little too wistfully at, say, Lucy's upcoming Alaska tour date...) I am new to this E-list. By way of introduction. My name's Richie. I - obviously - like Lucy Kaplansky aswell as any other good / great songwriters / singers / musicians. This includes all from the Rolling Stones to Bob Dylan, from Hendrix to Lennon, from Jerry Goldsmith to the Chemical Brothers and from Nine Inch Nails to Fairport Convention... I try to be as diverse as possible. A bizarre dream you describe, I never dream things so intricate - though I would have taken the money and run - ho hum, the freedom of dreams. Anyway, I wish you all well and hope to speak to you all soon. :) - Richie In a message dated 14/01/03 05:38:09 Pacific Standard Time, benruth@earthlink.net writes: > No, Lucy wasn't in my dream.
