I knew you had to show up on this list sooner or later, now that you have been exposed to some Lucy-listers in person. It was indeed a pleasure to meet you the other night, and I'm glad you've joined us in cyberspace. (Since Elaine mentioned her cat Dinah, I have to mention to the list that Elaine is a dog person converted to a cat person...I think this is a feat probably more difficult than a religious conversion, but it gives me GREAT hope for my friend in Arizona who has four dogs! Sooner or later perhaps she will see the light and get CATS! Whoops, I forgot, she DID have cats once...it didn't go well. But perhaps it can still happen.) And Sarah, I'm looking forward to seeing Lucy vicariously through YOU for a change. I too am thankful for this list...for the chance it has given me, through Lucy and her music, to know great people near and far whom I never would have known otherwise. And I'm especially thankful to this list in general for putting up with my ramblings here...of which there will be no more this morning because I can't be late to work! Again, happy Thanksgiving to everyone... Benay ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 11:49:37 -0500 From: Roxylee Subject: [lucy-list] What's in a name... Gina, I can relate. My name is Roxanne and when I was in 2nd grade and we were exchanging Valentine cards, one had my name written as Rock Sand. I kid you not. And then when THAT song cam out, I was plagued for years. Now men tell me they just love my name. They think it's exotic and mysterious. All this because my mother liked the name... Oh, well, I'm glad she didn't name me Ophelia or Ima or Bertha... something the kids would have loved to torture me with. Lucy content... Lucy content... I'd love to hear her sing harmony with Kenny White, with him playing piano, of course. Roxy, with apologies to anyone on the list with the abovementioned names ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 09:23:06 -0800 From: "Benay Bubar" Subject: Re: [lucy-list] What's in a name... Since this came up, I feel compelled to mention that one of MY Valentine cards received in third grade was addressed to Beany. What is terribly irritating is that I have actually mistyped my name this way more than once. Benay (and you better believe I'm typing carefully NOW!), who has now revised the title for her organization, NYKNAME, so that it stands for Naming Your Kids Normally Averts Much Exasperation ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 18:52:43 -0000 From: "Dave McKay" Subject: [lucy-list] Lucy at 92nd St. Y 11/24-the rambling part > Not sure I could ever date a gynecologist... eeewoooweee! He'd better not!!!!!! But, on the minus side, there were women going into labor that messed up plans more than once. The nerve some of these women have. ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V4 #269 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
