Hey, Libby, did you really play at the front of the line while waiting it out?! If so, KUDOS to YOU! I did it last month in front of the Cedar and (as bad as I am) the crowd did seem to appreciate it. I guess ANY diversion in a line is welcome! You bet, I did. :) As I had predicted... it was a regular old Lucy party.... whoo hoo!! Line waiting is a big part of the Birchmere experience... And truthfully, whether anyone else in line liked our rendiditions or not... we had a great time!! Libby... who'd much rather be waiting in line for a Lucy concert than at work today... - --- Timothy Bruce wrote: > BENAY wrote, "...where we managed to snag the first spots in > line outside. > The weather was lovely, > so it was a pleasant wait...Libby brought a blanket and yummy > brownies...and it > was only a matter of time before Libby's guitar came out and > we were > serenaded..." > > Hey, Libby, did you really play at the front of the line while > waiting it > out?! > > If so, KUDOS to YOU! To those in the WFUV listening area (OK, given Internet streaming, I guess that's everywhere, but on a practical level this probably means the New York area)...next week, during their membership drive, they will be playing little snippets of people's favorite concert memories every hour, and one of those should be yours truly, recorded this morning, talking about...well, guess which artist...and they will follow it up by playing Ten Year Night. I mention this here only because they can't tell me when exactly they'll play it and I don't get to listen that often, so I probably won't hear it. If anybody by any chance DOES hear it, let me know, OK? I mean, I'd kind of like to know if and when they play it, if I end up sounding ridiculous, etc. Actually, scratch that last part---I DON'T want to know if I end up sounding ridiculous! In fact, if you hear it and think I sound ridiculous, then please LIE. Lie broadly, lie copiously, lie long, and lie hard...preferably using phrases such as "the greatest 30 seconds in the history of radio" and the like. Rest assured you need not worry about deluding me into a misguided career in radio broadcasting...so, should you hear my little radio tale, please lie freely with regards to its quality, and my fragile and lately much-battered ego will thank you. At least when they play Ten Year Night, THAT will sound good...so that part will be worthy of true praise! I might have to play my air guitar tomorrow night in line at the Outpost!! I've been listening to Ellis Paul's new cd. I wish Lucy did more harmony on this record. The production of this cd is great. Duke Levine did a wonderul job!! I've also been listening to Linda Thompson's new cd. I think Sharon recommended it. It's wonderful as well!
