And, well quite frankly I was a bit scared since the last person I got fixed up with was scarier than a a waterbug. Well, I guess a Lucy concert in January will have to suffice... but it would be nice to have a date to go with :0) tootles, Simona Faith Hill - Exclusive Performances, Videos & More http://faith.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Oct 2002 09:04:15 -0400 From: "Benay Bubar" Subject: [lucy-list] scarier than a waterbug OK, should the Lucy-list ever actually be trying to fix Simona up, I hereby declare that the title shall involve something like "a HUMAN date for Simona." "Scarier than a waterbug?" Wow...that's harsh. And I should know, having killed another waterbug in my apartment last night (first one in weeks). But of COURSE this would happen now, I thought as I breathlessly embarked on an athletic endeavor I have now dubbed the "Raid Waterbug Sprint"...and, later, mopped up the pools of Raid that had collected at the scene of the carnage (not the kitchen floor this time, but NEAR the kitchen floor). Because, see, the waterbugs KNOW that the time for my seeing Lucy again is approaching. They always seem to know. Hmmm...since the Excedrin people showed little interest, I'm now thinking that perhaps Raid should be my corporate sponsor to subsidize my travel to Lucy shows. I do, after all, use their product rather religiously. (Yes, I KNOW it's not good for me...but waterbugs aren't good for me either.) And, appreciative as I am of their wares, I would like to have a little chat with the people in charge at Raid...having utilized nearly a whole can of Outdoor Fresh Scent Raid over a few months, I STILL have yet to notice any scent that even hints of a freshness reminiscent of the outdoors...unless, without my knowledge, the outdoors is in fact replete with the scent of waterbugs felled by harsh chemicals. Off to work, so I will send you back to your regularly scheduled Lucy discussions. (Oh, and even though she's not here, I apologize for possibly misrepresenting Suzi's fandom the other day. Suzi IS, as Sharon pointed out, without question a Lucy fan...) I think they sell minor concessions during the break, canned soda, water, etc. I may or may not be there, but was definitely planning on seeing Lucy in Sturbridge next weekend. Re EFO -- I was at the late Iron Horse show. Would have been there for the early show too, but, well, when Robbie mentioned something about it taking someone four hours to get there from Boston, he was talking about me! We won tickets to the late show and there were about 50 people in attendance. What a fantastic show!! Does he always perform his entire set with requests? An audience member would shout a song and he would play it. It was great!! I'm looking forward to seeing Lucy in Hightstown and was happy to hear that Duke Levine would be joining her. He is amazing!!! Are there other listers planning to attend this show? I've had problems obtaining my tickets. I orderd thru PayPal and the venue claims they never received my order....the transaction has appeared on my recent charge card bill. Has anyone else ever had a problem using paypal?
